Caustic is a bit underpowered.
Few things.
1. Caustic shouldn’t really share what enemies are in his gas with his teammates. It’s probably just that Caustic is supposed to see much clearer through his gas, which is probably why it’s only him.
I’m not fully against this, but I have some doubts.2. His gas doesn’t really need much of a damage increase. It is already kind of similar to Gibraltar’s ult, if someone decides not to avoid it they’ll suffer a lot of damage. I’m thinking that the damage cap should be raised, although not too much. Not necessarily a straight up damage buff, but it would still function.
3. It’s not great that his gas affects teammates, but I do see what BillyCrash100 is saying. Caustic’s gas gives a big advantage to Caustic, and if some of your teammates also get the advantage, it can be a little too op. This is similar to how Crypto’s emp still affects himself, in order to balance out the big advantage it gives to his team. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t reduce some of the debuffs, but they also shouldn’t reduce it too much.
4. Yeah, Caustic doesn’t really have much of a fortification thing, but he basically has a Bangalore smoke that he can see through and it does damage. It would be a great idea to buff the aoe, but at some point he will be basically a better Bangalore. (In terms of gas.)5. His gas traps are easy to shoot, in some situations. They can also be difficult to shoot in others. Instead of increasing it’s health, maybe change the hitbox of where you can shoot it so that it is a little more difficult.
- @Sir_Named even caustic cant see through his gas only when enemys enter it, the ult is fine i think the traps are at 4 damage now same as thermite which traps shouldnt it needs to be upd to 6 or 8 bangalore can fire her smoke across the map caustic can barelythrow it 20 meters gas and smoke are 2 different things
- @Sir_Named It is no place remotely close to a gibi ult, gibi ult will take you down to 40-60 health or worse depending on your shields.
Caustic just blinds and does very mild damage. If I can see the enemy in the gas they will still die. If I have a digital threat I’ll kill the caustic first and then his teammates. - @DarthValtrex It functions more like Gibraltar’s ult. It will take longer, but if an enemy remains in his gas they will suffer a lot of damage. (Although not as much as Gibraltar).Caustic can even combine his ult and his gas traps in order to cover a wide area with gas. Yeah if you have digital threat you can still shoot through the gas, but you’ll be slowed and constantly taking damage, which still gives Caustic the advantage.
- @DaleWWilson95 His gas increases the damage it does per second the longer a person is in it. I think it maxes out at about 10, but if you stack a second gas trap or use your ult in the same area it will increase to maybe 15. Also, his traps don’t damage as quickly as thermite, but on the other hand they only damage health, which can knock a person no matter what their body shield is.
The smoke and the gas aren’t very different. They are both a form of gas. Function-wise, the smoke has a longer range, a bit more spread, doesn’t slow enemies, blinds them more. Caustic gas can’t be shot across the map, although you can place it and move far away. It also will damage, slow, and blind an enemy.
The big difference between the Caustic gas and Bangalore smoke is that the smoke is a bit more versatile and has a bigger spread. If you buff Caustic’s range, you might just make a slightly better Bangalore. (In terms of the smoke.) - @Sir_Named Smoke and gas are very different dude one affects your vision the other shuts down the body

In the game, the effects are very similar. The smoke blinds you. The gas blinds you, slows you, and damages you.
If you buff the spread/range of the gas, Caustic might end up replacing Bangalore.
