I have lost count of how many times this has happened and I just wondered if it's the exception or the rule.I will get the drop on someone and empty a clip of heavy into their back and they turn around and bang I'm dead. Full blue or higher armor and health gone in a split second. I can't be the only one this happens to. Any ideas? Lag? BTW, I'm an average player so telling me I suck or get good isn't helpful. I can see the damage numbers roll up, so I know I'm hitting them. Today I literally unloaded half a clip into a wraiths face at point blank and I didn't even see her shoot and I was dead. Super frustrated.

I sometimes start shooting first with r99, I land every bullet, yet still the enemy manages to kill me while using a flatline or a spitfire, but it's usually the flatline. Other times we start shooting at the same time or I usually start first and guess what the enemy changes to his secondary 10 times faster then me, even if i'm running r9 purple stock with a wingman as secondary. By the time my secondary gets into my hands, the enemy already 2 pumped me with an eva 8.Another thing is that when I watch streamers, it feels like their enemies are moving through mud, like in slowmo and it is very easy to track them even if they take an octane's jump pad at full speed while being crouched. But when I play the game, it feels like most enemies are related to the flash, they are so fast and it is almost impossible to shoot someone who took a jump pad if you were not expecting it.

@Tad844 Your second paragraph - 100% this! Naive players will defend this issue with things like "the streamers are just that good", but it's all bs imo. You can clearly see that their opponents mostly are not good players, even on live streams. Also 0 recoil. I still think to this day that streamers are given some sort of advantage from EA so they can pump out good content to promote their product. This could very well be happening without their knowledge and they might be thinking "yes, I'm actually this good, better than the whole lobby actually" too. It's obvious at this point.I remember Staycation doing a video back in the day saying that the game was too hard and how difficult it was to put out new content because of it. A week or two later it seemed like a non-issue for him and everything was back to normal. What gives? The rest of us who had the same problem are still stuck with it today. I feel sometimes that there's a nerf on my account. How can I pump a guy full of lead and he turns around, starts shooting and I go down before him? Did you also notice that most of the time when you spectate these players that they're not even any good? Makes absolutely no sense - which is why I'm taking a break from playing as I don't like feeling that I'm at a disadvantage all the time.

That does sound like extreme lag. Remember, what you see on screen may seem like real time but it's not - it's the game on your device prediciting what is likely to happen in the future based on events transmitted by the central game server. If you have a decent connection that gap is usually about one-fifth of a second. Unfortunately, the 'less good' your connection the greater that gap and the more likely those predictions are wrong. For example, your device is predicting where the enemy will be, where your bullets are hitting and the damage you are doing - however the central game server has a different idea and when the actual data is transmitted something else entirely has happened.
Try and play with the best connection possible, including wired not wireless internet. Sadly, Apex is notorious for its less-than-perfect servers. I have a pretty hot connection but I do get the errors you are describing occasionally, espeically during my first three or so games of the day. I had one occassion when I was running through the bunker on KC and I saw the tip of an enemy Revenant's head coming up the stairs towards me and I died. When I checked the death log he'd somehow hit me with 6 shots from a Havoc!

@EdwardDLuffyWired 1gb fiberlink. In my country I don't think you can get better than that. So we're back to the same conclusion, their potatoes servers don't work properly.

This reminds me my apex issues, before i bought a new monitor with higher refresh rate. This made a huge difference to me, and i still wondering how i played before. 🤔
Although this may not be your case. Just wanted to point it out, that also a good monitor matters, if its going about smooth gameplay.

@DesertDust91 I have changed from 60 hz to 144 hz like one year ago. I didn't find it to be so much of a difference as people say. You can notice it yes, but it's not a game changer. From what I've read, the difference between 144 and 240 is even less noticeable then from 60 to 144.

I too have noticed the weapon switch 3 times the normal speed. They say if you crouch you swap faster. I tried that, but no luck for me.

Have you ever noticed that some streamers seem to have a different magnification on scopes than the game offers? It is as if their FOV changes by a different ratio than the one set by the game.
Who knows what changes they make to config files...

@shafti76 Trust me, it isn't your fault. The game is made that way. You may be good at shooters, which is a skill that works in almost every other shooter, but Apex Legends isn't a traditional shooter in which skill matters.
