Ideas for improving Storm Point after S15?

How would you change SP if it were up to you?

There's lots of complaining and expressions of hate for it but very little constructive criticism.

The main complaints seem to be that it is too big and that too many games are spent running from the ring and not seeing a single team for long periods of time, so here's what I'd change.

  1. Have some sort of natural disaster (tidal wave, storm, earthquake, rockslide) or the bag guys come in and wipe out the SE corner, eliminating Fish Farms and reworking Ship Fall and Gale Station to reduce the sizes of each.
  2. Add a POI between Mill, Cascade Falls, and Checkpoint or somehow fill in the huge open areas around there.  That island and shallow lake is just too big.
  3. Put the Tridents inland from the edge POI's and  make them less risky to use somehow (faster, quieter, shielded, more maneuverable, etc.)
  4. Increase mobility when using gravity cannons so they can't be camped quite as easily.

@HappyHourSumwur Stop adding POIs on the other side of the map. They just added a whole plot of land on the west just to add that monster POI instead of balancing the map on the east.

They won’t do this as they just removed tap strafing from the cannons. Just add jump towers.

@Cheese9ManI'm not saying go crazy with tap strafing abilities, just give the player more control over where they land and how they land. Why not take the small rails off the landing platforms, give the player a little more ability to change course while in the air, and give them some form of slide landing ability like Horizon's? Grav cannons might be seen more as a viable way to push and not attract 3rd parties quite as much.

I had a game last week where we wiped 3 squads in a row as they were landing on a grav cannon. They literally came in one at a time, 9 of them in a row. While it was fun for us and what they were doing didn't make sense, it would be totally different if we couldn't predict how they would have landed. As it was, we just took up position on 3 sides of the grav cannon and team shot them to immediate death as they landed.

As for where to add POI's, I think you are onto something.  I rarely land Lightning Rod and now I think it is because of what you said.  How about removing one like Fish Farms and adding one where you suggest?  Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Northeast corner: I would say it's an elevation problem. It makes a longer drop a lot harder. Combine that with the season 14 edge drop disaster of a shorter timer and suddenly it's a wonder anyone drops anywhere at all other than Cascade, Antenna, or Storm Catcher.

Just the same, I'm glad to have all these quiet, edge-of-map drops. I hate it when they add POIs that draw traffic into what used to be my own private peaceable kingdoms. You know, the place you drew the red line around.
