@vermat51 I definitely see where you're coming from. However, I miss how the game was when I started last year and I hate to see it doing so badly. I actually like this game and that's why I complain so much because I wish they would make the game better, or at least back to what it was. I can't speak for others, but I have a feeling they miss the fun they used to have and wish the game would be restored to what it once was before the toxicity, bad matchmaking, the excessive cheating, nerfs, lagging, and so many technical problems. So, I think it's more of a love for the game than it is a hate.

@vermat51No doubt there is a fine line between constructive criticism on the one hand and naked hate on the other. I don't think very many of the people who post are seething with hatred. They're seething with frustration. And that's a horse of a different color. If they didn't love the game then they wouldn't bother to highlight its flaws. They'd just move on to some other game.There's also the question of investment, and I'm thinking more of time than money, but in this game it could easily be either one if not both. It's hard to walk away from something you've put so much effort into. That causes frustration. Which causes rants. Which can look and sound suspiciously like hate. But which isn't. Yes? No?

Playing for what almost anyone would call "all the wrong reasons." Not that I'm that guy who starts three new posts on the same day to rant about the same thing. But "right reasons" can be hard to come by with a five year old game. At some point habit takes over. Personally, I'm a creature of habit and it's my habit to play this game. "Play" might be the wrong word. Maybe "inhabit," much to the annoyance of my teammates. And it isn't like I don't look out for new games. But there is nothing new. It's all the same old stuff with new graphics and new maps and new weapons and a new gimmick here or there. Still waiting for someone to come up with something NEW in gaming. I'll die waiting.

@vermat51 Good post. People can post whatever they want but I tend to agree, if a person posts daily the same complaint and rage then it's more on them than the game. There's an addiction issue they really need to address themselves. Happiness is up to each individual. If a game doesn't leave you happy after playing, you probably shouldn't play it.

@AymCTL yeah the mmr system made the game so much more toxic.
also still no soloQ in 2024 while no one want to fight 3stacks while playing solo.

@vermat51Sure, there are some people on here that hate Apex. I would say that most of what you are seeing is love-hate. I know that is my relationship with Apex. So much of the game is great but it is now ruined most of the time by fundamental issues that have gone unaddressed for too long.

Since my love-hate of Apex swung too far to hate about 5 weeks ago, I stopped playing. I do hold out hope that the core issues will at least have something done about them so I can jump back in and see. May not be in the cards but so long as the game is live, I'm gonna check in to see if Respawn can recapture what can make Apex so much fun.

@reconzero Anyone that keeps playing due to sunk time or sunk cost isn't playing for the right reasons. I've got thousands of hours and dollars into Apex but have really cut back my Apex time because it's just not doing it for me any more.
