@DoYaSeeMe See I don’t buy into everything they say about solos being bad for the game. I understand they have their statistics that show people quitting the game or whatever after solo matches and they see that as bad for new player retention. If that’s the case keep newer players separated from the more experienced players in some way. Also, it’s nice that they have stats showing who they lose because of solos, but I guarantee they don’t have any way of knowing how many people they’ve lost because of how bad this game is for the soloQ, or how many people would potentially come back to the game if they brought solos back to the mix.
In my experience, the one time solos mode was the best thing that ever happened in this game for my development as a player. Before solos I was completely trash at this game. I probably had about a 0.5 KD, after solos that changed to about 1.2 and now I’m about 1.5, and I know this is the same case for a number of people I play with. When you only have yourself to rely on you get better and seeing the errors in your game and make the adjustments needed to better yourself. All while not having to have toxic dirt bags telling you your trash or that you should uninstall the game, or just quitting on you all the time leaving you alone to fight full squads by yourself the rest of the game.
I don’t necessarily think a solo mode is the only possible answer for fixing these issues in the game, but something desperately needs to change to make the solo queue experience better. Maybe they need to put soloQ players in their own separate lobbies away from the triple stack lobbies, and only bring them over to supplement teams of twos to fill their rosters. Maybe there needs to deterrent for people that quit before their banner runs out, or maybe the opposite and there could be some sort of benefit given to people that don’t leave early for a number of games. Maybe after 5 or 10 straight games of being downed and not leaving when you can still be picked up, you get an apex pack, or materials or something that would be an incentive for people to stick it out. Because whatever the answer is, something really needs to change. The soloQ experience is generally unbearable.
