In what situation will players be banned for grouping other teams maliciously?

I want to know whether a player will be banned if he cooperate with a team temporarily to fight another team in the situation that they don't have any communication and don't know each other in the real world.

For example, there are the final three team and two of the teams only have one person and the another team has three people. And the two lone players don't shoot each other until they luckily defeat the third team that have three people. Will the two lone players be banned because they cooperate to defeat the three-member team first even they don't know each other, can't talk with each other and enter the same game in coincidence?

  • @Rotating_Wingman Does this happen a lot to you? You could report them and they may get banned but surely this is rare. As with any teaming I'd save a video that clearly shows the teaming and report it through the website. I've done it for full 3 man teams teaming.
  • @Rotating_Wingman If I'm a solo in this scenario, I'm definitely attacking the 3-stack first. Strategically, it makes no sense for me to take out the solo first, and leave myself 1v3 against a full team. I'll always try to bait all enemies into a fight, so I can hopefully capitalize on the chaos and come away with the W. That isn't me "teaming" with the other solo. That is me using my brain, and making a strategic decision for my attack. If the other solo happens to be smart enough to make the same choice, props to them! I don't really care what they are doing though, as I am just trying to use them as bait/distraction to hopefully come away with the W. I'm definitely not going to avoid shooting/killing the solo in that final fight though. Everyone is a target.

Personally, I don't consider it "teaming" unless they are communicating (in any way) a coordinated attack, and going out of their way to NOT attack each other.

What you described is not collusion or teaming.  It's called strategy.  The solos would be foolish if they engaged each other when the third team is present and a full three man.

@pandareno1999 If two enemy players are close together not shooting each other its teaming. Is it smart? Sure but it's still teaming. It doesn't matter if it's 2 players, 2 2 man's or 2 full teams.

Just yesterday I was with randoms and this solo comes up, does his tags and drops some stuff very early in a match. Clearly wanting to be friends. My teammates tbagged back. I PKd him in the face and boxed him.
  • I think there needs to be a distinction between "trucing" and "teaming."

Trucing: using non-verbal communication in game to prevent an exchange of gunfire, possibly to form a temporary alliance and work against other teams.

Teaming: Coordinating queue times and being in voice comms together to coordinate meeting in a part of the map and deliberately avoid firing on each other, with the express intent of:

    • Farming kills
    • Farming rez
    • Farming stats
    • Creating a duly unfair advantage over the rest of the lobby
    • Gaming a victory for RP

The former sucks, but I don't know that it borders on ban-worthy. The latter though, absolutely is ban-worthy.

@NullEffective9 Both of those suck but choosing not to shoot someone else is a tough one. Two solos may decide it best not to kill each other against a 3 stack if they both realize that's the case. The haven't talked or decided beforehand to cooperate (i.e.-teabagging friendship agreement previously). How do you know that they made a prior agreement to cooperate rather than a snap judgement that it is in their best interest not to kill each other so that they have the best chance to win?

I'm not talking about either one.  If you're a solo in top three with another solo and a full team present in the same area, your only hope to succeed and have a chance of winning is to not engage and then third party when the other solo and the full team engage.  The way I read the original post, that is what I envision having happened.  I could also imagine it looking to the full team like there was collusion, when there was none.  Nobody was described as crouch spamming at each other or whatever to try to make some deal.

  • @Rotating_Wingman Here’s the thing, being friendly to a solo, and letting someone with a golden knock rez, to punch it out for the win, used to be frequent. It was the peak of chivalry in apex, but since the ban hammer is being brought down meaninglessly as of late, no one dares to do that anymore. If you can get perma-banned for a typo, then how low are they willing to go. EA needs to loosen up on their bans, so that the game can be fun again.
