Inclusivity?

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

So Horizon...

I dont have a problem with women in video games...hell my mains have been Wraith and Loba; but there seems to be a lot of needless pandering to women. I'm tired of politics in video games in general but I thought the idea of inclusivity was equal representation.  This seems more like just checking boxes though.

Male characters: 5

Gibraltar

Octane

Crypto

Mirage

Caustic

Female characters: 7

Bangalore

Wraith

Lifeline

Wattson

Loba

Bloodhound

And now Horizon

Genderless: 2

Pathfinder

Revenant (technically male psyche but his vessel is gender neutral)

I'm not mad about this but in reality there hasn't been a male character release since season 3. That fact doesn't bother me but what does bother me is pandering and checking social justice boxes. So just pointing out an unequal trend. And if I wanted to be really bold I could point out that there hasn't been a "white male" introduced to the game since its launch, and he is to date the only white male in the game.  Hmm. 🤔

@TheTrafficKing True, but when it was written (I think this was after BH event) it was already proposed that due to the voice alteration and the full on garb + mask that BH was non binary and it was confirmed afterwards, but I get what you mean.

Game journalism for the most part is not journalism at all but a crock XD. I call it vague cause the VA is female, yet they let BH sound male-ish but with voice alteration on purpose in the game. Almost equally male and female in tone.

Then trailer comes out, mask right from the get go, and sounding like a boy who has not had his balls dropped yet or a girl who sounds boyish (like lots of boys and girls sound between 8-13) in both cases. So there was still a lot of ambiguity, at least for me and around the web, cause I saw multiple threads pop up still questioning if it was a he or she (not taking into account as what BH identifies his/herself as).

  • @TheTrafficKing Don't think you're gonna get much of a positive reply to that one. Bit of a gray area xD

Bloodhound is "non-binary" I believe. Ash is technically genderless. Blisk is obvs male.

So far then it would be 5:6:3 which isn't that bad really. So by like what season 9 it would be 6:6:4?
  • @TheTrafficKing Bloodhound is technically genderless and the LGBTQ+ community wants that too instead of BH being male or female.

That said, on twitter the vocal cords seemed to run rampant too a while back when multiple females got added one after another xD. And then the supreme white male community got involved xD.
  • I hadn't heard that BH was non binary. Where was that mentioned?  She's clearly female in her spotlight video.

I was mostly just stating that it's currently very one sided as to the additional characters since launch.

Im not too worried if the breathless SJWs come after me with their venom.  It was only a matter of time anyway. Eventually they will eat their own afterall.

I didnt read this became game journalism is completely monopolized by political hacks who can't help but make everything about their personal ideology. And since I get that garbage everywhere else there's no need to seek it out.

I didnt think the trailer was vague. It definitely made BH boyish but seemed obvious that she was a she.
