Good reply.
Okay, so back on topic: I know you're on Wii - do you know which server you're routinely connecting to? I'm trying to identify the variables here. I'm xbox one x, always on the South Carolina server, decent internet connection, and the only thing I've experienced that even comes close to yours is that I'll have an individual match or two where I just can't seem to land shots. I would normally put it down to a me-problem, but I'll turn everything off, come back in an hour, and suddenly I can deal damage again. Did I have the wrong gun with the wrong scope? Did SC have an overload? It may even have been the lobby and the shut down was enough to tell sbmm to get its head out of its butt. I know sbmm isn't normally that responsive, but sometimes, in certain circumstances, it is. Just spit-balling here.
Anyway, if I had to guess I'd say it might be a server thing. Try switching. On xbox there's a prompt on the load screen to look at available servers. I'm sure Wii has the same thing. Pick one that isn't at the top of the list, even if the ping is a little higher. Worth a try?
A worthwhile experiment would be to try playing on someone else's console/account, if you know anyone else near you who plays the game. Or open a secondary account, which I know is probably breaking what passes for rules around here, but that stops absolutely no one. Either path would give you some good data.
I play on Switch and usually use the Oregon servers (there are 3 of them I think, labeled as Oregon GCE 1 and 2, and the other is just Oregon). Does switching servers help that much? I usually go with the server with the lowest ping and zero packet loss.
These problems didn't start until season 20 when the audio files to the guns were changed and the aim assist was disabled for the switch joy *. (Target compensation is now greyed out on the switch version). Also, all movement slows down when any enemies at all fire guns. The graphics have been majorly downgraded with season 20 with the scenery being blurry or pixilated in places.
The only time anything like this happened before season 20 was during the Halloween event for season 18 when they had Halloween theme maps and the graphics were pixilated with very slow movement, but respawn fixed this problem within 5 days of people complaining on here.
The recoil is much harder to manage on the guns since they all do a sharp * upward when you begin firing. Previous to this recoil was never a problem on switch since you just tilt the controller forward to balance the recoil with the gun firing.
When you add to that the players doing one shots and impossible recoil/movement it is now near impossible to play. Mixtape is at least partially playable since it seems like fewer people are cheating there, but even that is difficult compared to what it used to be.
One more thing, regarding the experiment idea, I just got a new gaming pc, would trying on pc be a worthwhile experiment? I hear MnK is closest to the switch joycons so maybe that would be something to try.

Yeah, what you're describing doesn't sound like a server thing, but switch away from any Oregon server just for a match or two to make sure the problems persist. If they do then you know it isn't a server issue.
Also, definitely try the PC. I'm sure there must be devices that would allow you to keep your controller if you don't want to have to learn kbm. Anything that happens differently on PC will tell you a lot about whether you want to continue on Wii or just switch over completely. Although I've heard that trying to port your data can be problematic, so if you've invested a lot of $$$ into your current account, enough that you don't want to just start a new one, then think carefully and follow all instructions to the letter.- AymCTL2 years agoSeasoned Ace
I tried changing servers, and have tried tweeking the sensitivity settings of the joycons to try for more accuracy. It worked on the firing range, but in matches it still does little or no damage despite being more accurate and the gun recoil being easier to manage. For instance, I shot at a player that was fairly close with a spitfire with a barrel stabilizer and hcog bruiser. It was a cant miss shot, and I landed every bullet in that clip from the spitfire and it did ZERO damage. Then, I did a jump slide behind a tower to change my shield and he shot me through it, the bullet went through the tower walls. (Several have complained of this in this forum, bullets have gone through obstacles since season 20).
I'm hooking my new PC up tomorrow. I heard the cheaters have taken over all pc lobbies to the point they you can't play without a modification device, so I don't think playing on pc will help, but I do want to try it at least once.
It's sad that it looks like there's no plan whatsoever to fix this, and all the players who are having these issues are being pushed out of the game. It's like a secret group of players have been buffed and can down anyone in 1 to 3 shots and have double health, and 5x speed movement, and everyone else has been slowed down and nerfed. It's really getting frustrating.
The sad thing is this would be very easy to fix. The switch plays games a lot more complicated and much larger than this game so there's no reason it can't handle this.
I'm just curious, other than changing their sensitivity, has anyone else tried some different things to deal with the post season 20 problems?
