How do you suggest they price their items? Other games also charge around $20-25 for a single cool looking skin that is limited or just comes into rotation after some time.
Apex does need to earn money somehow and you can buy 2,400 coins and get 3 even packs that yield 9 items (3 event items and 6 normal pack items)
I feel the pricing could be adjusted and lowered to maybe $10-15 or a bundle discount if you choose to purchase everything.
@iBlockHeadWhat game charges 25 for one skin or locks a melee cosmetic behind a 160 buck paywall?
You created a thread trying to justify the prices making out it wasn't a cash grab and noticed after you said your piece it went pretty quiet..

The truth is this is actually worse than iron crown as you don't have a chance of getting any achievable event packs like last time.

@apostolateofDOOMI still stand with what I said. The game needs to make money somehow. Last event they charged you extra for the heirloom. This event you get the heirloom for free along with 24 other items that legendary and epic.
How do you suggest they make money out of this game or do you think EA just funds them because they enjoy the game themselves? Right. Sure the pricing is still a bit too much but they are getting better at it.
Fortnite charges $22 for a skin pack that just includes 1 skin and a backpack.
If you want a game where you can earn your cosmetics for free and everything else even during an event, go play a different game because Apex won't and shouldn't do that.- 6 years ago@iBlockHead They removed the price of the heirloom but also the two event packs you could earn for free so it doesn't make much difference and the price of skins and loot boxes are exactly the same as IC so please explain to me how they are getting better at it.
They could sell skins at a more reasonable price for the majority of players instead of targeting streamers and whales.
They have done exactly what they did last time and locked a cosmetic behind a ridiculous paywall but also locked ''freeloaders'' out of the entire event shop now. I don't want or expect to get everything for free but most players should have the ability to earn and/or be included in some of the event.
I put money into the game btw and understand a business needs to make it but you can't deny that they have made more than enough previously to drop the prices to a more reasonable amount. They know full well that the only in game currency you earn if effectively useless and now created a barrier between the ''have and have nots'' which is a change of tact compared to previous events and imo wrong for a f2p game.
Enjoy your alternator and devotion skin freeloaders is effectively the message this event puts out.- 6 years ago
@apostolateofDOOMYou've yet to bring up a reasonable price so I ask before you respond again with the same argument as before, what do you suggest they price their event items at?
Player can earn items through BP purchase which could be bought once and done, a mere $10 for a forever BP where they can get a free legendary item with the accumulated CM.
I'm glad you understand this to be a f2p game and therefor should understand that Respawn does not owe the players anything and may choose to price their items where they think it is reasonable and we just have to continue to remind them that $20+ is not so reasonable so they may adjust.
But again, it is f2p and thus you should not expect them to just give out free loot.
And to the first part, instead of having to pay $200 for all items + heirloom, you now spend $20+ less so its clear they have adjusted their pricing and even with the 2 free event packs, you would still save $15. The one problem that the event packs had was no guaranteed legendary which gave me two epic items that were not so great. I'd rather earn 2 legendary items than take my chances on the random again.EDIT
Let me remind you again that Respawn has put out a free 2 play game and thus owes nothing to anyone and the cosmetics are there for them to gain money back on this game so that they can continue to push updates and make the game more enjoyable. If you do not like the way they price, continue to post about it but keep in mind, you have the choice to not purchase anything and still play the game.
