Keyboard and mouse on Xbox

Question

Hello, with the new addition of cross play to apex legends, I was hoping and looking forward to playing keyboard and mouse on my Xbox when playing with my computer friends, unfortunately though I see that that’s not possible, just as a general player of Apex, I know k and m on console would by greatly appreciated.

@Jeremiah_TSThe only way I could see this being remotely possible would be if they set it up so that players who use mouse and keyboard are automatically switched to PC lobbies and locked out of console lobbies. I've played numerous rounds in the PC lobbies and it's very difficult for me to even keep up with them.

If they let a bunch of mouse and keyboard players into the console lobbies it will destroy the game for those of us that just want to play with a controller.

But if they could keep it seperate I don't see an issue. I was skeptical about cross-play and that's turned out well. So I'd imagine if they had a similar system for K&M players it would work. I just don't want M&K players in controller lobbies.

It would give those who can't afford a gaming PC an avenue to play Apex in the PC realm and be competitive. I think that would be a good thing.

@DarthValtrex I very much so agree with everything you say, there would be a definite advantage using K and M in a controller lobby, and no doubt it would only be fair to in turn being locked into pc lobbies. That would give the user of K and K on Xbox or Play Station an actual disadvantage in this case, although a disadvantage known and chosen by the user. I agree too that it would be a great thing and additional to Apex Legends.

It takes a very long time to build up muscle memory on on mice. Not days, but weeks and maybe months.

Alot of people think OK plug in mouse and keyboard then suddenly they are god.

Ask any PC player in this forum they will all tell you they struggle against PC players in public mode due to high skill ceiling. Go up against a PC player when on console you get wasted anything beyond 20m range.

Some controller players on twitch I've seen can out perform most PC players.

The skill gap is smaller in close combat.

They should just throw console and PC players into same pool for match making, sbmm off and turn off aim assist then let them use whatever control method they want.

PC Players can use whatever control method, they can use any monitor, they can buy any brand of mouse/keyboard. So might as well say some PC players have advantage over other PC players too.

Or say I am a console player, rapid single fire controller with 120" projector and someone's head pixels is size of my hand.

Anyone can afford a PC to play Apex due to low system requirements, like a £100 graphics card even. You're going to need a PC/laptop anyway as can't do your banking and career work on a console. So a PC is multipurpose whereas a console is an appliance.

If anything PC is cheaper as you can access multiple digital stores like Origin, Steam, Ubisoft etc and consoles tied to one digital store and one streaming service. But unfortunately PC cheating has gone too wild now, so make it less appealing.
