@hayhorEvery time I play one of these LTMs I feel like I'm seeing the bad movie version of a great book I once read. The book is full of characterization, plot points, maybe even a little action. The movie is just action, action, action all the time. Run and gun, run and gun, run and gun. Maybe you don't even have to run all that much. I don't know. I guess this is just the cranky old man in me.
I'd be the last one to say that Respawn shouldn't try new things, but it's starting to feel as if they aren't trying new things. They're trying one single old thing over and over again with, as you say, a slightly different twist each time. I can't help every single time feeling as if what I'm playing is "dumbed down" compared to trios. I get that they're trying to give me new things to learn, but I'd like it better if the new things were in addition to all the stuff I've already had to learn instead of making me feel like I don't really need any of the old stuff at all. Except the gun mechanics. Which, as you know, are not my favorite part of the game.
