Just want to clear things that the big leaks are not datamined leaks. They were insider leaks and even if they added hyperion, no software can stop Respawn’s own devs from taking a picture then posting it.
Lastly, the new roster leak from 3 seasons ago isn’t a new thing since season 2 we had insider leaks (image below). You can see that this leak was on season 1 until season 9 which was valk. I made a thread on the history of apex leaks a while ago Did the season 0 leaks come true? [Contains seasons 0, 2, 5, and 6 leaks] . Unfortunately I had to delete old uploaded images since the AHQ has a limit on how much images you can upload (2500 to be exact).
These are the old leaked rosters from season 0 and season 2. Don’t worry about leaks since all of the legends here either already came out, was scrapped or combined to make a new legend (Pariah + Prophet = Seer). If you want to know the scrapped legends’ abilities, they’re in that thread.
@Cheese9Man This is true. Though I'd say if a dev is leaking stuff they have determined the leaks build hype that is good for the game. Likely fills the no content void.

- @ExpertEpic99 I don't think they do. I'd guess they are told they can and it's probably planned.
- @hayhor Devs are never allowed to do any kind of leaks. Most times the leaks come from testers and the amount of them has increased because of the work from home model that is way more insecure.
Leaks happen because devs need to build versions of the game that contain unreleased stuff in order to test & tweak. It's a pretty difficult job to remove all the extra stuff completely each time there's a new release version and also not a good idea to bloat the build with fake stuff to obfuscate the data miners. Therefore, there will be a lot of leaks in the future, as well.
However, this won't stop Respawn from making great teasers. There's only a few players that actually check the leaks, the vast majority of them don't care and enjoy the release of new content as it's supposed to be. This is why there's no need to spend too many resources to fight against leaks.
