@RockDokRock She could rez a teammate and use the shield to fight. It took zero skill and rewarded poor play.. It was strong across the board in all lobbies. The data didn't lie.
@hayhorIf abilities that take zero skill and reward poor play can't be in the game there'd hardly be any abilities left. Most abilities are centered around "got yourself into trouble? It's okay, just push this button". Others are just click-to-wallhack.
@CCbathwater Seriously? When you find yourself in trouble there are few abilities that are a get out of jail free card. Please elaborate.

Well, you play Caustic? How is clicking a button for a gas grenade a "skill", or popping a trap, when your teammate is down and you want to prevent a push/3rd? You might still get killed but the abilities doesn't take skill.
How does throwing a dome take skill when you're one hp or want to revive?
I just fail to see why Lifeline was/is the only "skillless" character that warrants so much complaining or whatever, when other legends have abilities that take no skill either, and can deny you a kill.

Having the wisdom to know when and where to use it is "skill", pressing a button has nothing to do with it. That gas trap has to be in the right spot for it to work. That grenade has to hit spot on to be effective.
I don't buy for a second any of this is "skilless". No way.

... and can deny you a kill. What I see isn't that it's "skillless", it's that somebody is playing their legend well and has denied you a kill. They've made it harder for you and you don't like it. I see it as good play and try again.
I don't know what would satisfy you then. If you want abilities removed (sounds like that is your issue) then maybe CoD is better? Not sure.
- @CCbathwater The ability wasn't what I was talking about with regards to skill. It rewarded teammates pushing in bad spots.
I do agree with you tho that some legends take less ability than others. And I agree lifeline is one of the harder ones to use properly. But that doesn't mean she should be able to do an automatic rez with a shield on a teammate who did something dumb in the open. I still think her passive should be automatic health for her couple with the current res. And her ultimate should be totally reworked. @hayhor I've seen this comment so often. Lifeline's ultimate needs to be "reworked".
What would you change?
How about a ultimate Pheonix-kit like ability you can use on yourself or a team mate?
- @RockDokRock They tested one of the possibilities in dummys day mode. The super heal. Not sure that is really the one but it would make her really good in getting ready for 3rd parties or pushing people.
- @RockDokRock Well, then you might as well say that Lifeline's auto-rez takes skill too, as you have to rez from the correct angle for the shield to be effective against incoming shots.
"They" don't like it - I'm a Lifeline main. And never had an issue fighting other Lifelines anyway. Can't even begin to count how many times I've just one-tapped the revived player the moment the shield dropped and thus insta-downed him.
I don't want abilities removed, far from it. I've always believed legends should be strong and annoying to play against. Not "Gibby strong/annoying" of course, as he can do too much and is unbalanced compared to all other legend kits in the game. And especially compared to Lifeline's kit, where the shielded drone-revive was basically all she had and balanced the rest of her underwhelming kit. Now she doesn't even have that. Gibby still has fast dome-revive however. Never read any complaints about him "denying my legitimate kill" though. 🤡 @CCbathwaterI always seen LL as a all skill player, she does nothing to cause damage or to reposition..but the res shield was kinda OP they should just bring back the original res still got the shield but LL herself had to perform it which took her outta the fight for a moment...revert LL to season 1 where she had fast heal an had to do the revive but give her the option to drop care package or replicater.
She should have a small sheild at least just annoying when randoms are in the open.

Randoms are dumb thats why I'm saying about the sheild - they could make it so its able to be damaged with gunfire like the rampart barriers.
- @CCbathwater Just do what everyone does - play the popular legends so that the game is literally littered with them and eventually some butt hurt players will be complaining about this and that being OP and the devs about pick rates etc.. Then they'll nerf those characters into the ground as well. I see this all the time in the game - it's usually only players that don't play said legend would complain about something. Maybe they should just remove abilities altogether so everyone can be happyyy. LL was fine the way she was back in the day before the shield etc. but they just had to ruin her. And now they make her pretty much useless this season. LOL. I can't even...abilities, skill? Please. Anyone have any other excuses for bad gameplay? Literally anything can be countered in this game.
Well, good news - the map is so big that it is way easier to pick up people with Lifeline even without a shield, I actually start to see the legends being picked more often than before already now, at least in lower aka Gold lobbies.
Map size renders shield somewhat useless, yet it still would be nice to have it back 🙂
Exactly! Or make it smaller, or slower res! Gibby can res super fast in is dome, and dome is unbreakable. At least uou could easily throw a nade or thermite to the side of LL’s shield
Sorry gonna go a bit off topic here but since there are a lot of lifeline mains/users here, what do you think about LL's ultimate? Some LL mains are voicing their concern in twitter because of the smart loot the wildlife gives to you compared to LL's ultimate. Ian Holstead is a gameplay programmer at Respawn.

Her ultimate should have better loot on it yeah. And the lifeline sheild should be crackable like ramparts barriers.
- @Deleventure98 Gold loot in the lifeline crate would be cool and I don't ever play lifeline.
- @LetMeVsBots There already is gold loot in the lifeline package. The lifeline package always progresses based on your team's loot. If you all have purple or red it gives a gold shield.
- @hayhor I mean ALL the time, not just progression
