But on topic: Yes, matchmaking is bordering on tragic. Problem one: smurfs. Problem two: cheaters. Problem three: dev can't do anything about problem two, won't do anything about problem one, and honestly still believes that the matchmaking algorithm should be "skill-based," which is, imo, very wrong. It should be play-style-based.
I'll tell you one thing though: don't play with wives, brothers, friends, anyone at all that you know, irl or in game. MM punishes people who stack, and if your stack isn't made up of three people who have perfect communication skills and almost identical skill, then the system will pit you against cheaters/streamers/pros and the rest you already know. Solo queue is hell, but it's a cooler corner of hell in my experience. Just a thought.
