@SpeedyColt You are not the first who had these thoughts.
There was a post talking about the same thing awhile ago but it got deleted.
To add more clues about what Respawn could do with your account , connection or whatever so your game play is better or worse check this post

This was at the beginning of current season , I stopped logging in to this forum for some time now but when I saw that post I actually logged in just to see if anyone is talking about what is happening and there it was , a post that is talking about the same thing I came here for .
Some of our members calling this (a conspiracy theory) but when a group of people are having the same experience then it's not a theory , it facts and happening in real life .
And guess what since that post ,3 weeks ago I logged off and today I logged in just to see if anyone is talking about SBMM as it been a very bad Apex day but again I found your post , what a coincidence ha .
I also noticed that a lot of people complaining about SBMM at the same time .
They say it's to keep players engaged but its doing the opposite, maybe it works for short term but on long run it will just push people away from the game , I know because this is what is happening to me right now.
I've been playing this game since launch but I had enough, I will be doing my dailies then log off and find another game that it doesn't give me a heart attack 😛
I had more than 10 friends playing this game in the past and some of them were pretty solid at it but they started falling one by one and they stopped playing this game completely even here in the forum some members they just log on , do dailies then log off and play another game.
Even reporting and report feedback/reply is based on favorable specially if a player is on console then he/she will be at the bottom of priority list and will never get a reply no matter what you show or present as evidence the answer is always the same (get ignored)
