I’m still a little sour that Respawn just admitted that they don’t value a player’s mechanical skill as a metric for winning gunfights and games. I’m also shocked that more people aren’t bother...

@Gabrielmojo26 People who care about low ttk are just hurt they cant get cheap free kills nd they can't answer this question? (what was so bad about the right ttk they had to lower it)

- @DaleWWilson95 I don’t think it’s that. The higher skill lobbies lower TTK was definitely noticeable, the OP makes some solid points.
- @DarthValtrex Im not a pro or a casual.. But to a casual if they see lower health higher power weapons that reduces the skill gap massively taking into fact rng and everything else, people are to biased into what they want instead of the greater good/balance of the game
@DaleWWilson95 TTK being lowered had nothing to do with any outcry from the community to start with. That was a decision made by respawn based solely on statistics and data.
Some people preferred the lower TTK as their fights felt more clean cut, you get the drop on an enemy and they get punished as a result, a play style more in line with arcade shooters. It's not a matter of less skill being involved, its just a different skill set required.It also made a wider variety of weapons feel much more viable.
Low TTK isn't a bad thing, it was just introduced into apex far too late to be accepted.
The bottom line is it's all irrelevant as to who was right or wrong, TTK has been reverted to its original state (weapon buffs excluded) and that's it, end of story. 😛

- @DaleWWilson95 There's plenty of answers on this forum to your aforementioned question, probably from myself included, I just don't care to get into the same argumentative mind set to try and prove the other person wrong, which is the typical way a lot of players act on here. That's kinda the impression I got from you in that one post. I'm definitely not angry because I can't get anymore "free kills" with a reverted TTK, that's far from being the truth, and I feel as tho that's what you're trying to push on me lol, hence why I don't care to entertain your question.

@DaleWWilson95 In what way are the kills cheap though i ask you? You're at equally as much risk of being killed when TTK is reduced. Like i said initially it's a different skillset required, and some people just didn't adjust well to it at all. But alas, like I said previously it makes no difference now hehe. 😛
- @MandatoryIDtag It’s cheap in the sense that:
The lower you TTK, the more reduce “defense” as a dimension of skill. Defense can be considered a player’s ability to strafe and a player’s ability to respond quickly (turn on) an opponent who sees you first.
The most extreme version of this is CoD Hardcore, where players have no health. Its first to shoot and first to kill. So not so skilled players would sit in a corner and wait for an enemy to walk by. Boom, the lesser skilled opponent wins.
That’s the direction that the lower TTK in Apex was going. They even admitted that they want the player to shoot first to win. That’s not a good look for Apex. @Axs5626Sxa5001 Yup, and cod players anticipated that. If you assume an enemy is around corner you move differently, you position differently. Which is what I think respawns goal here was. This is what I meant by a different skill set.
I'm not saying it was the right decision, I just see the vision they had in mind and can understand the merits of it.
Whether it belongs in a BR is a different matter entirely though as we don't just get back up and shake off a death instantly in the same game.I
- @MandatoryIDtag Imo kills where cheap as everyones health/shields was reduced and the weapons didnt get reduced to match the drop as well as the devos and volts everywhere introduction of evos only, i started season 4 it was not the same game that attracted me in season 6 if i wanted to die in 2 seconds have no moveabilty dude id play cod or fortnite..On apex as a solo que(there is no solo mode) i have chance to fight back instead of constantly just 1v3 or 3rd part imo
- The low TTk would be good for LTM like SnD or where people can respawn or a new permanent mode? which is like hardcore trios low ttk no HUD idk.. It just didnt feel right imo...
@DaleWWilson95 I do like that idea, a few of us have talked about the possibility of a hard-core mode LTM in the past. Whether respawn ever pursues that is another matter entirely though.

@DaleWWilson95 Winter Express was legitimately good and challenging! Or at least in my opinion it was. I never could get too many matches for it, everyone seems to have just done the challenges and gone back to regular Apex.
- @MandatoryIDtag That's the thing tho that is most frustrating, they could have tested it through an ltm and got feedback. Instead they just said here you go.....
- @pastaclown Winter Express is the best mode they ever made. Fast paced, quick games. A genuine actually different alternative mode.

Absolutely agree. I wish they added a permanent objective game mode called Capture the Train, as this would expedite the action we all want. Apex literally has the best gunplay/movement/character abilities. Battle Royals are fun but I think the majority of people play Apex because the game just feels good.
And lobbies are only 9 players!! This means less wait time. How they have yet to add this as a permanent mode is actually behind me.
