my guess with the syringes / med kits is because people were still getting out of the 3rd ring alive. Maybe this is respawns way of saying to stop it ?
I wouldn't be suprised if respawn adds more damage to the ring, if the reduction of med kits and syringes doesn't work out.
That's my guess at least.
After playing today I can say....
I don't like the nee inventory system.
It's bad for business and make 0 sense.
To adjust I'm carrying less amo. The problem is that they reduce the amo as well 80 to 60 :/
On a larger scale the 2 slots for 8 cells instead 0f 12 :/
Lossing 4 cells. Really bad.
If you have problems with made spamming. Just reduce nades per slot. 1 instead of 2. Why complicate everything?
if you already went through all that and you want to balance this horrible meta changing move. Give us 100 rounds of amo instead of 60/80. 4 slots of amo 6 slots of meds 2 nades. 200 rounds havey and light.
Shotguns I'm good with 1 slot = 16 sniper takes 2 slots as well = 40.
Now I'm being forced to carry 8 syringes. Normally I only carry 6. I'm forced to cary only 8 cells normally I carry 12. Unfortunately I only carry 2 med kits. Still stacking bats up to 6. Never cared about nades. Btw. Nade spamming in end game wouldn't change. Final 2 or even 3 I don't need all those meds and amo. Just dump half your inventory and switch it for nades. So this change is not going to achieve it's goal regardless.

All to solve a "problem" not a single player ever considered a problem in the first place.
- hayhor6 years agoHero@Wingmannedbro Totally agree.
- hayhor6 years agoHero@Bestburrito4u What you said about the end of a game is correct. If I have time I'll drop most of what I have for grenades.

@Bestburrito4uI’m still undecided on it and need more time to play with it. It’s a big change and I see some positives and some negatives to it.
I need more time to see if I can adjust my game play and loot system to fit the new inventory system.
My only major complaint is not being able to stock pile excessive nades.
I have not had issues with ammo (yet). What I do like.. the increased inventory right off the bat makes it slightly easier to do a few things. 1. Is carry hop ups/attachments for guns I want.
2 i also feel slightly more comfortable looting early game. I’m not having to search for a back pack immediately. So I can sort of wonder a bit more until I find one.
Somethings I have been trying, as I pile up med kits and batteries I dump the cells/syringes.
We shall see how it plays out, but I’d really like more time in the game with it and more experiences. But I definitely agree with your points.- 6 years ago
Didn't really care for it myself. Fortnite did something similar with heals in Season 5 I think. The reason being for them was people who streamed would spend most of the game holed up with mini's(1/4 shields) in their inventory and pencil in hand(edit for build mode). With the reduction in heals it forced you to choose heals or other items. Also with a cap it forced you to play the game in a more aggressive style. It worked for the most part game became less camp fests and more strategy and positioning.
I am sure respawn is doing the same thing here. Bringing people into fights and forcing them into finishing them quicker.
I didn't like the back pack change. Especially considering there are no in game update notes so first game in it was weird to pick up 6 bandages and 2 slots in my backpack were taken up. The grenade limitation on just 1 per slot is stupid in my opinion. Fine no grenade spamming, just will make it harder to deal with a camping caustic. I know because last night I got my second win of the night camping as Caustic in geyser. No one could push in because there were only 2 doors in circle and they sat outside peek shooting windows. Ordinarily I would have been naded to death.(Which was fine in my opinion.) I don't like dying, but in the case of my game last night I should have been easily flushed out by the last squad since I was solo for most of the game I just camped it out to see how far I could get. I am sure my opponent squad at the end game was cursing the lack of stacking nades. They had a few at the beginning, but ran out quickly, which will lead to more camping of sorts in the future in my opinion.
Like everything else with the game it is their choice to change things as they see fit.
- 6 years agoAfter about 5 hours of playing, I can say that I only feel a difference in the grenades amount. The first few matches, I looted with the stacking limits in mind and ended up having too many meds, shield batteries, cells, ammo. Then I didn't care much and realized the benefit of those 2 slots added, as they allow me to carry parts for other weapons, either for switching later to a different loadout range weapon or to bring them to my teammates.
Nades feel like a problem now, but I also noticed that I often end matches with a ton of ammo. I can gain 1-2 slots there.- 6 years ago
I can't say it had major impact to my game. It's more of a discomfort. Can adopt to anything really. Would like to cary 6 celles and 6 syringes this should balance the change. I will use the extra two slots for bats.

they should just reverse it to how it was before the patch.

I love it. It only took a day or two to adjust to the new system, but it's a change for the better. Now instead of having the last 4-5 teams spam grenades and heals, you can only choose one. If you have gold armor, you'll probably carry more heals. If you have purple, you'll probably carry more grenades. It's balancing everyone out so it's not a spam-fest at the end. Everything is more methodical - what to carry, when to use items, etc.
