MM is Constantly Changing
I should've posted this earlier but this is about matchmaking in Apex and how it is constantly changing, using different variables to determine what type of lobbies you get into. I feel like Respawn...
@swift07I thought this would be a good place to share my recent finding pertaining to a matchmaking change.
You can no longer descend the matchmaking ladder by leaving the game during the game’s initial skydive. Some people were using this strategy to expedite the process of getting easier lobbies (while simultaneously preserving their KD). Based on tests that I have run across a few accounts this week, you actually have to die now to have “easier” lobbies.
This change is very likely from the latest patch.
I’d say this is a good change. People will still lose on purpose to avoid the Master Pred Pub lobbies, but at least this comes at the expense of their KD.
I encourage people to test matchmaking for themselves— the more we all know collaboratively, the better in my opinion.

Noticed this one too. I was cheesing the play x legends in 12 games where usually I’m gonna be put into bot lobbies after a few quits (based on the champion).
I, too, noticed this change due to the two no-fill games I frequently do in the morning, which I usually do not quit right away (looking to pick up craft mats or whatnot), but I do so without having fought anyone.
