Regardless it shouldn't be outright supported. That being said, I know Respawn/EA won't go out of their way to ban xim4 if they feel they're profiting off those people, which they almost certainly are.
you don't know it but this is the biggest false perception about emulated mouse and keyboard support.
you think they are profiting off the Xim? only Xim is profiting off them. there's absolutely no way any dev of any game is profiting from less than one half of one percent of the entire possible player base. that's right. the people at Xim keep usage stats. if every single person who owns a xim4 or Xim Apex played Apex Legends at the same time it would amount to less than one half of one percent of all Apex Legends players. you are wrong.

Target transitioning is where the problem lies. It's simply too easy to focus fire on 1 enemy then quickly snap to another if a threat emerges. That alone can screw with the integrity of the console PVP experience, that's not including the enhanced accuracy while doing so which makes a huge difference in this game. So in a perfect world, I'd remove support of that * entirely.
this is not a problem. increase your in game sensitivity if you feel you can't move from one target to another fast enough. it's exactly the same for both control types. your personal inability to switch targets is not the fault or a problem with emulated support. enhanced accuracy is achieved by the player and of course the heavy aim assist(aim assist imo should not be in any game for any control device). the game does not play itself. the device affords better control by using the mouse over sticks and versatile button binding. accuracy and speed are supplied by the players

I would be completely OK with native support if they're paired up w/ PC lobbies & by result disincentivise people from using xim. Whether using native or emulated m&k you'd be at a disadvantage to people running high-end PC's, but regardless of the circumstances, it's not the Console Gamer who should get punished, the people using m&K on console are the ones who should have to accept less than ideal circumstances. There's a reason why people pay up to keep their PCs in top shape.
That all being said, I expect nothing to be done about either of these issues, any time soon
under most circumstances native mouse and keyboard support is separated from. controllers. though I would tell you that trend is gonna change in the near future. from the sound of it you are really gonna hate gaming next Gen. you are right a natively supported mouse and keyboard player on console would have a disadvantage playing against a high tier pc. but despite that you're not gonna hear the complaints like controller players try to make vs mnk. the console gamer isn't getting punished in any way. if you feel that strongly about it you can use one yourself or run away and not play with the less than one half of one percent of players at maximum potential using an adapter.
the players using mouse and keyboard on console NEVER have and NEVER will be punished in any way. we have them to. thank for the accelerated push for mouse and keyboard support on consoles to begin with. next Gen is gonna be lit. games never before available on console because of the short comings of controllers are now coming to consoles. for that we thank emulated support users
