Nerf Volt Damage 16 -> 13, people are really MAD!

We all know it can beam people but 16 damage is too high for a weapon that can beam enemies.

Please do not increase the recoil because it would become another Havoc.

The Havoc has high damage and high recoil.

The Volt should have low damage and low recoil.

And factoring in the Volts high projectile speed, low damage would not harm its performance.

Please do not nerf the recoil.

I am tired of the recoil nerf solution to all op weapons.

I like the Volt but I can only deal with the Pew Pew Pew beam of death for so long.

And right now im exhausted.

I just realized all of the weapons suppose to be overpowered due to the BOOSTED theme.

Maybe Rampart Boosted all the weapons for Blisk.

If so devs please explain this to everyone so we will not be so confused.

Because earlier I was confused and angry about the overpowered weapons aka BOOSTED weapons.

Thanks

People are pissed off and really mad about this season!

You guys need to hatd patch this quickly.

@xx_Dante2k_xx  Yeahh for sure, I'm not sure why they took such a historically decent weapon and turned it into a pea shooter to be honest lol.

I understand that in a BR not every weapon can be extremely good...but the only way you can compete with the other smgs is if your enemy has terrible aim with them.

  • @1ronKeys No because it already outputs more damage than the r-99 did with it's current mag size. Jeez, look up the charts the numbers are insane.

@BaldWraithSimp The prowler has much slower projectile speed though. I just landed in second place. My team had full red evos. Two of the players in their squad had Volts. They melted both my team members within seconds.. and mind you one of them was a predator. The volt needs both a damage and range damage nerf. It's an SMG. It shouldn't be more powerful than a Havoc ffs. Respawn should look into balancing weapons like DICE does; Nerf all weapons at ranges they shouldn't be used at.

As you say, even a potato can laser with the Volt. The recoil is vastly more manageable than the prowler and the projectile speed is noticeably faster, so the real-world ranged performance is far superior.

However, this makes sense: Respawn explicitly created the Volt to sit between the SMGs and assault rifles as a balanced weapon that performs well anywhere from point-blank to long-range (with the right barrel and optic).

Increasing horizontal recoil would erode the very aspect which makes the Volt unique.

The real problem is that because the Volt out-damages the Prowler (208 vs 200), it's superior EVEN AT CLOSE RANGE, where the prowler is supposed to come into its own. In theory, the Prowler's higher magazine size (35 vs. 26) would make up for this, but because of the Volt's huge dps and the Season 6 shield reductions, it's so easy to one-clip with the Volt that the magazine size doesn't matter.

How do we solve this? Reduce the damage per shot. At 14 dmg instead of 16, the Volt would sit at 183 dps - almost exactly the same as the R-301. This way, the Prowler would have the edge in close quarters thanks to its higher DPS and more reliable one-clip potential, and the R-301 would nose ahead of the Volt at long range due to its better recoil pattern.

at least give some treble sound to volt. it completely silent when someone fires from behind. if you want to give silent weapons in-game then give the silent barrel. why need to mess with players ears.

  • @Zulopi This makes perfect sense.

Generally speaking, assault rifles handle poorly, but they have solid dps, big magazines, and great ranged performance. With those things combined, you should be able to one-clip an exposed target at range IF your tracking and recoil control are good enough.

Generally speaking, SMGs have poor ranged peformance, but solid dps, mid-size magazines, and great handling. With those things combined, you should be able to one-clip an exposed target at close range IF your tracking is good enough, PLUS you should be able to strafe fast enough to not die.

The Volt can do both of these things at once.

It was designed as a hybrid weapon that bridges the two classes, but it's arguably better than every weapon in either class, except at very long range. The Flatline is hit worst by this because it already sucks at range - I mean, who the * is going to use the gun when the Volt out-damages, out-handles AND out-ranges it??

  • I like it. Its powerful but with the scarcity of energy ammo it's usually an issue if more than one player on the team is running one, especially since it so desperately needs an extended mag.

I dont find I'm dying to it that often either tbh, I think people are just hating on it because it's the new weapon and a lot of people are using it for its novelty.
