New guy here, is it just me or is this game crazy sweaty

Self explanatory title, I hopped into like what, 3 matches and dropped in random places. The first two were extremely hot and I died near instantly, the third one I survived for a bit longer but same outcome, near instant death, even in a cooler area. Do I just gotta hope I get matched up with less experienced players and move up from there? Because I feel like im playing against pros here.

@ComicBookGuy2727I tested various scenarios and I don't know what country you are from (I'm from Poland), but taking into account Central European time (UTC+02:00) I noticed that most people play between 10:00 and 18:00. Then there is also a slightly smaller chance of playing with cheaters. Real hell begins at 22:00/23:00 when the number of people logged in according to steam charts is the lowest. Then meeting cheaters is no longer difficult.

Adding to what @reconzero said, when I play solo I play loba. She can move quite a bit instantly. Another fast mover is octane.

dropping hot has its benefits and its draw backs.

when I am with a team and we drop hot, we usually always each get a kill. The mental state is very different from when we drop cold and are focused on scavenging. In those cases we may suddenly be engaged and I personally am not mentally ready because I wasn’t expecting it like I do when I drop hot.

so sometimes I want to drop hot because I’m in the mindset to engage asap, and sometimes I want to put off first engagement because I’m tired.

as for best time to play as others bring up, I look for the best time to match with randoms who tend to work as a team rather then do their own thing. It has come to my attention that those who literally move as a team are FAR more likely to win engagements than those who are trying to catch up to their teammates who think they are so good they can be 30 seconds ahead of their team.

don’t be under any illusion. This is a team game.

"It has come to my attention that those who literally move as a team are FAR more likely to win engagements than those who are trying to catch up to their teammates who think they are so good they can be 30 seconds ahead of their team."

Another common-sense idea that I completely disregard on a daily basis. It is true that if you don't play a mobility legend then you really should stick to your teammates no matter how obviously foolish their courses of action.

But if you do play mobility and if you take the time in your personal training regimen to learn how to solo then there are a lot of other Apex Truths to be learned that most players will never know about, or would outright disbelieve if I tried to tell them. Chief among them is this: Once you have reached a level of competence with weapon handling and the basics of engagement then the best course of action you can take in this game is to AVOID FIGHTS at almost any cost. Assuming, as I always do, that a win takes precedence over any stat chasing. Engagements are not your friend, even if you believe they're the meat of the game. And the earlier they occur in a match then the more worthless they really are. All downside with nothing worthwhile to be accomplished. All risk, no reward. Or so says me. I know most everyone will disagree, but there it is.

  • @masohle1 Yeah, its bit sweaty at beginning, but after 7000 hours you'll be able to sleep and play game at same time

@Miss_Apex_B4_s20 I would agree, the hours for me on Oregon servers between say, 0800 and 1500 are the best, most fun, MM seems better and less cheaters. I can sometimes even pull a win out during these hours.
Between the hrs of 1800 and 2300, is sweaty with wild MM.
However, after 2300 untill the weee hours of the early morning - cheat fest.

@reconzero I agree, If you aren't playing Apex Legends (a battle royale) for the win, imo you're playing it wrong.
I will never understand why anyone that chases stats, banners, kills and bragging rights on these particulars, play a battle royale game, where the sole purpose is to win.
Which in most cases means, playing smart, strategic and yes, avoiding some fights or picking and choosing them carefully - knowing when to engage and most importantly - when not to engage.
There are other modes or COD for the stat chasers.
