Even if the math is correctly, there's what, 12 weeks in a season? So, 10 hours a week times 12 weeks, that 120 hours. 120 hours to finish one BP without doing challenges doesn't seem a bit excessive? That doesn't seem sluggish and grindy? Really?
*Edit*
And, even if that's on par with the old system (I don't know if it is or not), at least the old system *felt* better match to match, day to day, week to week. Yeah, It wasn't perfect, some of the challenges were insane like getting 10,000 damage with one specific gun and the 54K XP level wasn't fantastic, but until that point, it always felt good to me. I'd like to feel progression in that system far more than this one for the reasons I listed in my previous comment.

Fair enough. But I would argue that one of the things to "like" about some games, find fun/enjoyable, is leveling up and earning things (in Apex's case, BP levels and cosmetics).
There are players that like playing games that have a good sense/pace of progression and rewards for doing so. And I just don't feel the new BP system's sense of progression is well paced. It feels sluggish/grindy to me.
And, honestly, for me, thats an important part of a game. It's not just about the "shooty shooty bang bang" for me. I feel like everything in Apex matters. Core gameplay matters, lore matters, cosmetics matter, etc. If they didn't, then we would just be playing grey blobs with no looks or personality (basically, Fire Range dummies). But, we're not. It's all there for a reason.
And I have issues with one of the "puzzle pieces" that make Apex, Apex, to me. And, as much as I like the core game play and the comics and the Legend personalities and voice lines and all that, sometimes the game just doesn't feel good to play, because the progression on the BP feels sluggish. And I don't like how it's done.
Basically, for better or worse, I do play this game partly for the cosmetics. And I don't think that's a bad thing. So, when there are issues (in my opinion) with the system in which we aquire said cosmetics, it impacts my liking of the game and the enjoyment I have with it. It's just how it is for me (and some others) that play and invest time and/or money in this game. - 5 years ago

If it is a game you like to play, no it doesnt seem grindy. Most gamers game more than that in a week.I like Apex a lot. It was my most played game of 2020, and it wasn't even close. But the new BP system does at least feel more grindy to me, and I did have trouble finishing the last one (aka I didn't). 10 hours a week isn't that small an amount of time to take out of a finite 'leisure time' budget, and with the new system hours spent on Apex feel less rewarding. I guess I'm just not gamer enough.
