Those are the things I'm excited about!
Ranked changes will FAIL - because the lobby level WON'T reflect peoples rank. Respawn'll throw Plats and higher vs Rookies, so nobody has a <removed> clue what the genuine lobby difficulty is or whether their team was at the right level, or whether there even is a match making system.
This insane idea that they'll hide the MMR, put people into whatever lobby respawn thinks is appropriate and given a flat amount of "lobby" points based on *performance in that lobby* is bogus because a Rookie (plat) vs Plats won't gain Ladder points, and will stay a rookie forever. There's 2 positions:
Expected MMR > True MMR
- You lose ladder points despite your rank being lower than opponents
- Eventually Expected MMR recalculates
Expected MMR < True MMR
- You gain Ladder points
- System throws you "Rating & Elimination & Skill Bonuses" to try and shove you to a higher rank quicker
Ultimately there's no longer even a pretense at displaying if there's matchmaking, as the only visibility is player end on what bonus you got. If you start at a low MMR and avoid significant recalculation anyone can be ranked as an Apex predator by consistently placing in top 8.
