They are changing the game up in a lot of other ways I think for this season.
The journey to Psamathe is going to be built over this season and I'm excited to see what happens! Obviously there are going to be some big map changes to Worlds End this season, and i'm sure that the new map will be worth the wait.
Also i'm pretty sure that COVID or no, Olympus was always planned for S7. It also makes sense that we've had 3 revisions for each map so far before the new one comes out. Where they go from there I guess we'll see!

I think I'm done then. This season was already incredibly painfully boring. Was holding out for new map.
Gonna leave Apex til new map, if by the time it's released i remember to come back.
They should stop trying to make a new content, and actually for one fix all the current issue the game has, or they will continue lose huge playerbase and not getting new players.
I think we just have to see what shows up. It's too early to call after the switch they pulled with Forge. They may still be adding Olympus, or it's coming in Season 7. As for delays due to the pandemic? I'm not sure that would really affect this season, WE was in development long before Season 3. I would be surprised if a new map wasn't already in development before the end of last year. For all we know they might have originally planned a new map for Season 5, but the pandemic delays pushed it back to Season 6.
OP does make a good point though. This fall will be highly busy with big releases like Avengers, Hyperscape, Valorant is still hot, and of course Cyberpunk 2077. And how can we forget the launch of PS5 and Xbox Series X with all new games? Apex could get lost in the shuffle. On the other hand, an argument could be made that it's better for them to ride it out and then do something big for Season 7 after the fall hype has died down.
If there is no new map, i'm done and im sure there is a truck load of people feeling the same way. Will it break the game, probably not, but it matters as the most loyal people will quit.
2700 hours in Apex, you want to but you just cant do these two maps for another season, and frankly a bit unfair to ask. No new map, no battlepass. Really just cant anymore.
ll wait for somewhere else to land, aka new map.
