Nobody had tested Rev Uprising before release?

Cmon you guys. I have a strong feeling that nobody tested whether this regime is fun for players. Or there too many people who enjoy suffering among devs 🙂

What is this Revenant Uprising regime at all?

1. You cannot defend yourself when being attacked by 3-4 revenants. Too many hps and their advantage is too strong. If you are randomly targeted by a small group of Revs there is no way to survive.

2. You have to wait until somebody will respawn you! Why? It takes a very long time or we need to wait until our squad is fully dead? I will start a new round instead.

I felt useless when playing it and it was simply annoying and not fun.

also if you're a revenant and you die within the ring, guess what, you respawn in the same location. and since you have no health, you're gonna die repeatedly until the game is over or you leave.

  • I've noticed some issues:

    1. It is not enough, that you have to run from one side to the opposite side to get to the ship. Constant attacks slow you down considerably. Too little time between the last ring and the dropship arrival. Also not enough time to get on it before it leaves.

    2. 6 players is too much, most are gone before anyone comes close. And the site is by then already infested.

    3. Most hurdle together and only start to move when the ring comes, resulting in the first issue.

    4. Am I to understand that this event takes 4 weeks? Hmmm...

Couple of things they could have done better:

    As Legend

    1. No transformation to Rev after death. First, it was fun, but it quickly becomes boring. I usually just quit. Even when I start as Rev.

    2. More dropship waiting time. Even if you survive as a Legend that long, you'll still lose, because you didn't get there on time. Happens every time.

    3. Even if one or two make it, it's still too few and you'll lose. A least one player should suffice anyway.

    As Revenant

    1. Red Rev is pointless. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    2. Remove player location from the main map and keep it to the minimap only. Let the Rev's use ping to communicate, that's where it's for.

    In General

    1. No dropship for Rev's. Let them start at the other side of the map and give the Legends some time to equip and organize. They're called Legends, not some helpless sheep.

    2. Suggestions provided by all of you guys included.

    3. 4 weeks seems plenty of time to apply some changes to balance some things out.

I guess it will be 2 days a week, 1-2 hours a day, for the points and then back to Mixtape for me. Or another game.

That's all I had to say, I'm out.

  • 1. I think many players simply don't understand what the objective of the game mode is. They keep fighting at the very edges of the ring, and run out of time to get to the dropship.

    2. Turning into revenants is fine, and it's an important part of the mode. That said, I feel like the respawns should be limited. Maybe you get three lives or something. Or the revenants have to do something to spawn other revenants in waves, such as interact with an old rev pylon or something. Anything to slow down the respawn rate and make killing them off more impactful.

    3. If the revenants were invulnerable to ring damage, then a good solution would simply be to spawn them much further away when they die instead of at the very edge of the final ring. This would make the drop ship scenario more winnable for six players.

As is, I find the mode fun for the moment, but I can slowly but surely feel the cheaters start to infiltrate it. It's amazing how so many players do even better than the Apex trailers when it comes to 99% accuracy on revenants leaping through the air and double jumping while simultaneously performing tap strafes.

This is the stupidest game mode they have ever come out with and the worst thing is its forced on you! I honestly hate it. Its so dumb

  • This gamemode highlights the fact that team based PvP games are just the worst. I get the feeling like I am always on the wrong team. The team that does not work together.

Just spent another game as a Rev running around the map for 10min just to get one clipped by 20 legend group playing together. Managed to get a one melee hit throughtout the game.
Whenever I am playing legend you can see a group just bunker down with multiple controller legends somewhere and get as many kills as possible before dying to the ring with no interest to actually play the game. And you trying to play the game end up dying to rev army. Then you turn into revenant and wow you won the game by dying. How rewarding.

Playing with people is just the worst. Many other broken things as well on this mode but this one just really showcases the biggest issue with free to play PvP games.

  • I got to play 4 matches on team Revenant & 2 on team legends & for me it's just not a fun mode on either team & just isn't a very good mode in general & so wont be back to play in it's current guise.Playing as a Rev clone when melee is the only attack option just adds frustration to the mode particularly when melee in the game absolutely sucks.Wouldn't it make it a better gaming experience as a Rev clone to at least be able to pick up one weapon instead of hopelessly relying on melee hits?.And like the other commentor mentioned about being stuck, dying & constantly respawning back in the middle of the storm just made my p!ss boil. And in both matches I played as a legend when I did make in the vicinity of the dropships there was a complete wall & camp-fest of Rev clones that was impossible to break through.Although I hear the mode will be around for 4 weeks & I heard that there maybe a gap in between filled by the Winter Express.

    A few possible ideas to improve the mode at least;

*The ability to pick up a weapon to use as a Rev clone.

*Have Team Revs controlled by AI & throw in some Prowlers working alongside the Revs.

*Instead of a Team Revs vs Team Legends have Team Legends vs Team Legends vs Team Revs. With 15-20 players per team have 2 teams of Legends compete against each other via elimination with the added complication of going up against a Team of Revs in a 3 way split. As a Legend should you die & not be respawned in the set time you come back as a Rev clone with only 3 lives but with the added bonus of increased hit damage to your original team who failed to respawn you. This would put more emphasise on teammates reviving & respawning teammates (aka leave no one behind).Revs are armed with a random weapon.

  • It's a silly mode, I love it! It's a breath of fresh air, if you're tired of the sweaty BR / any other mode. Both sides are fun, the only down side is revenant sometimes spawns outside zone and out of bound it's so dumb, and of course the hackers, but then even hacker can't handle this many revenants lmao, unless ofc they put too many hackers in legend teams (aka rigged). I played the original fight or fright in season 1, the one we have now is the one we originally wanted, where you're actually in a (single) team right from the start instead of going solo. This is the best fight or fright version for me and also the best LTM. They should let the chat opened for all players when revenants or legends win to celebrate.
