He's been my main since S8 and I've 675 kills with him. It took a while to learn how to play him.
I basically won a game solo with him yesterday. Round 5 with the only other squad hiding in a gas-trap filled bike shed on Olympus. It took one Knuckle Cluster to blow the bloody doors off then the shed was soon full of nades. The enemies came out into a hail of bullets ... game over.
His ult is only good for two things - dropping it on a third party fight or creating a barrier so you can res/heal yourself and your team. It's really dumb that TMs are undamaged by the ult, but Fuse is.
His nade ability is very good for getting camped teams out of settled positions. The final ring yesterday was at Estates in one game and I arc-starred an enemy squad off their building and onto the ground.
Nades are good sent quickly in pairs as they deploy via Fuse much quicker and directly. Pop one where an enemy is and one where you think they'll run to and you're in business.
The KC is good at getting people out from behind small rocks and bins. It's also good in early fights when enemies haven't yet shielded up. Okay, so the max damage is 35 but that can be a massive advantage in an early 1v1 scuffle. I've survived countless 1v1s unarmed v armed enemies early game that I wouldn't have done with Rev. I had a fun fight with another Fuse yday when he KCd me and then I KCd him. I won that one with a couple of punches.
The bad stuff? Sometimes the KC doesn't go where you want it to go. I've knocked myself with the KC at least three times.
In terms of ranking I'd put him above Rev but below all the usual suspects like Wraith, Bang, Gibby etc.
- 5 years ago@EdwardDLuffy honestly you are a better fuse than me, i am approaching 500 kills with him so far, i remember a room with a window and a lifeline reviving someone, 2 arc stars and my tacitcal put an end to her shenanigans :P
i love his ult for dropping onto third party fights, can create a lot of chaos and actually get you kills, especially if they are fighting close together(and obviously outdoors), i have even dropped it on down enemies just to confirm kills and stop enemies from reviving them.
i very much agree with your point i remember an enemy squad was on a high pillar at artillery, 3 arc stars later and a tactical suddenly they were not on the high ground and running from me, that was a lot of fun(wanted to pursue them since they were very damaged but teammates were going the opposite way and i wasnt going to beat them in a 1 vs 3 despite how hurt they were) you sometimes get very lucky with KC(there is a video i posted in the video topic of me doing 156 damage with one use of his tactical) but usually it does like 20 or 30 damage which really isnt much
KC and sometimes nades with him does sometimes seem a bit weird, doesnt seem to go where you expected but maybe that is my fault, i would say your ranking is about right, i do think he is a bit underrated right now, he doesnt bring much to teams usually but he can block off area's with his ult, he is the best character for breaching buildings and getting enemies off the high ground- 5 years ago@Swarth2300 Yep, same here with the Ult - it is very hit and miss. Sometimes you pile it on a third party fight and it doesn't do a thing, sometimes you get 2-3 knocks. Some of the time it doesn't go where you want it to go.
My fave was when I saw three enemies gathered around Loba's Ult. I landed it perfectly and followed it with the KC and three nades. I killed one and knocked the other two, 700 or so damage. I finished off one of those knocked as they were reviving and my TM got the other.
The other downside is when I am not playing Fuse I still pick up all the grenades :D- 5 years ago@EdwardDLuffy his ult is very inconsistent but i cant tell if that is the ult's fault or mine tbh, i feel that about picking up nades after forgetting i am not playing fuse
