PC players in console lobbies?

That is 3 times in the last two gaming sessions I have come across a PC player in a console lobby. One of my sons on Ps4 same as myself play a lot of duos together. It was my understanding that as long as a PC player was not in my lobby or in my squad, that I would be pitted against console players only.

Am I wrong?

spectating players moving while looting death boxes and twice had a guy tap strafe like a god while trying to track him....which I know is impossible to perform tap strafing to that degree on a controller. Jumping straight up and moving 4 to 5 feet right and back 4 to 5 feel left before the player's body even starts to descend. Just ridiculous. This player went on to dominate the entire lobby with ease and win.

Good thing I had that OP aim assist to cap his a*s - oh wait, I got obliterated. Can I return my aim assist for a refund? ... it isn't as OP as I was led to believe.

@XHelperZ I didn't see your reply. Anyway, what I mean is, I could disable it and then sit in the lobby for 30 minutes or more with me being the only one in the que. Highest I have ever seen was maybe 3 players in the que and that's it. I was never able to start a game with it off.

But when I enabled it back up, I was able to find games again. Instantly at best, or I had to wait 30 seconds at worst.

Honestly, with all the players out there, I find it highly unlikely that only 3 people disabled crossplay.

Either the feature is hidden far too much.

Though I personally think it's more logical that there aren't enough players using it so there are good queue times on all datacenters.

You might see a lot of users in console only lobbies on NY servers, whilst other servers might carry a few users, creating a big gap in queue times.

Rank disparity becomes even greater with less players too, so filling lobbies will become even harder if there aren't that many players.

@XHelperZ yeah to be fair, this option is not present in-game. You have to disable it via the main Xbox settings. Thing is, you'd assume that there would be more than 3 people interested in doing so, right? But apparently no.

I play on Frankfurt servers, they are the closest to me.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the way I'm reading your posts, it seems that you don't understand how cross play works in console lobbies. Cross play in console plobbies means that playstation, xbox, and switch players play together.  PC players are not part of the mix here (except in OP's case, who is claiming that PC players are somehow glitching into their console lobbies). It doesn't matter how populated a region is, non-cross play lobbies for console basically don't exist.  Nobody on console plays with cross play turned off, because there's simply no reason to.  Switch players would like to be able to play in non-cross play lobbies due to the extreme disadvantage they face in playing against players from other consoles with 60 fps.  But even on Switch, no one uses that feature (except, rumor has it, in Japan), so they cannot find such lobbies.

Again, forgive me if I'm mistaken, but it sure sounds like you think that "cross play" for console players means that they play with and against PC players.

OP, we need some video or photo proof here or something, in order to have a proper discussion.  Otherwise, this is a case of your word against that of Respawn itself. The only instances of this ever heard of have been a few isolated cases of PC Predator players who somehow cheated in order to glitch into console lobbies and were caught.

@pandareno1999 Not anymore in Japan. That was the case 2-3 seasons from the release of the switch version but now you can’t find games anymore. Everyone just plays the cross play lobbies now.
  • @Cheese9Manmaybe he encountered box jumpers and horizon side sliding.

that's why OP confused them with PC players, but I am sure there will be no PC players in console lobbies.

unless they hack it same as what happened a few seasons ago.

Hey, as noted this definitely shouldn't be happening, and some plausible reasons have been put forward for why it might appear so.

That said, occasionally strange things happen. @NickBeam27  if you happen to have any recordings of the match in question, can you DM me with a link to it (hosting on youtube is the easiest) and we can take a look.

There's some great info in the post, but at this stage I don't think there's much merit to a further back and forth so we'll lock it off.

    Thank you.
