people are not respawning me in ranked after picking up my banner

So i usually play ranked solo, and today it happened again... 2 teammates just played solo after we have won 3 v 3 and they picked my banner up while not wanting to respawn me so why do i get *-72 if i leave plat ranked cause they didnt respawn me and picked up my banner ????!! Like what am i supposed to do always get - points no matter what i do, cause i dont get respawned. it just doesent matter -72 for leaving or -40 casue u cant do nothing... Please can you start banning those people if we send you their names and video of them doing that, ore just delete penalty for leaving after you are dead, because it just doesent matter, Quality of life for ranked please !

  • @VOID_Boberbor When you die in ranked, sometimes it is not the best option to try and respawn due to how much of a target you will become.

When my teammates die (I play in a pre-made btw) we tend to communicate and we look a key factors...
    1) Has there been any close fights near our nearest beacon?
    2) What is the current ring size, would it be a good idea to go to the beacon now or play for points?
    3) If we are near a good loot area with decent items around.

Ranked is all about points, the easiest way to get them is through kills.

I don't think players deserve bans for not bringing you back in.

@rockyboy1998 Meh, I've had @GHOST whatever his name is now respawn me in the last circle with the ring closing. There is always a chance! 🤣
  • @VOID_Boberbormaybe they hadn't had the time to respawn you in a safe spot? Either way, you just have to wait 90 seconds after they pick up your banner to leave without additional penalties...or you could wait for their placement to get the least amount of points deducted, or in a plats case, 4th place and you get 4 points

@rockyboy1998 I half agree. I do do what you say when I'm carrying a tms banner. I look for a spot with 0 enemies & decent loot. But I feel it's better to have your whole team back as soon as possible. But if I know I can't bring them back, I'd rather leave the banner so they can leave the game.

There are toxic tms that pick up your banner & make you sit there til they die unless you want to take the penalty. And that's what I think the OP is talking about here. I think those kinds of players should be given some type of punishment like a leave penalty or points taken.

You can freely leave after 2 1/2 minutes, even if they picked up your banner (from the time they picked it up, I believe).  I've never bothered waiting because I don't care if I abandon a game, but probably you'll know if you try and see if the warning comes up.  If it doesn't you're safe is what I understand.

Really good players often take a long time to respawn you because they aren't interested in getting you or themselves killed when the dropship comes.  Having said that, yeah, sometimes that's just too long to wat.

  • @VOID_Boberbor you may know this, but based off the post, I'm gonna say it anyway... if someone grabs your banner in a ranked match, you technically are still in the game and a viable player. If you leave, it doubles the negative RP so in plat a -36 becomes -72 and 10 min cooldown for pubs and ranked matches before playing again. So if they don't respawn after grabbing banner DO NOT leave. As frustrating it is to see someone run past a beacon, sometimes it's best to skip one and go to the next.
  • @VOID_BoberborThis can be a strategic move. Respawning you is going to invite other people to push them. If there is not an available beacon in a safe area sometimes it's best to just not.

I have asked teammates to not respawn me or at least not at the location they were going to. It depends what stage of the game it is and where they are on the map. I would rather them go for placement points, then respawn me in and we all get slaughtered by people pushing the drop ship.

@hayhor I make exceptions for caustics especially if there are buildings we can bunker down in. haha I also make exceptions for friends. But with randoms it's really dependent on the situation.

  • @VOID_Boberbor They can't really ban people for not wanting to respawn their teammates. Most of the time I'd opt not to be respawned because of how horrible Apex's respawn mechanic. It's like announcing " please come here and mess us up while one of our teammate is weakened". It's super rare you'd get a respawn off without an enemy team coming and you're not outside the ring. The usual ending would be your team gets wiped out or you get left behind and killed so what is even the point.

But how would the system be able to discern wether it's toxic folk who want to annoy you or decent folk who maybe just wait for a good chance to bring you back safely? I'd always sit these situations out. Your team mates might die soon, letting you off the hook, or might even carry you to some points.
