- @dioangel Yes it’s easier if you’re with a pre-made squad but soloQ platinum to diamond is possible.
You are correct and it is a team based game.
Now I understand your frustration regarding your other thread from a few minutes ago.
Hang in there and look for 1-2 other players you might be able to link up with in your quest for glory.
I have found that the grind to plat or above lobbies is a waste of time vs the benefits and the stress involved. I do like ranked play and the MM tends to be better than pubs but once one hits Plat it is an altogether different ball game even if you have two other dedicated players to play with.
Wish you the best of luck out there.

I mean you really have to be insanely good and have the time.
@Asmodeus566A lot of people in the forum can get out of plat solo. SoloQed my way through Plat II-Diamond IV in S8 too (the last time that I actually tried playing rank). It’s not impossible but it takes a lot of time since there’s an RNG aspect on which type of teammates you’ll get. Lol.
Now that is an accomplishment to be proud of.
How long did it take you (hrs/days)? How Stressful was it?
And from what you have said in previous posts you really do not think it is worth the stress/grind anymore at least for you for now.
- @Asmodeus566 I think it took me 5 days (a couple of hours per session) from plat 2 to diamond. S8 was the return of diamond dive trails so I had to get it but just after a week, the cool factor of having one fades off quickly as most of the lobby also have diamond dive trails. It’s not worth it and that split was on the map I hate the most, KC. Pretty sure better skilled players can pass through plat pretty easily.
Way to go.
I just do not have the time to put in that effort and it would be more of a grind for me as I suck at this game, i would prob have to put in twice the effort you did.
- @dioangel I have two friends that do it solo. They tell me the game becomes a bit boring because their teammates die and they have to be very careful in picking fights. But one does it in 7 to 10 days mid to late season when he feels like it so saying its not possible isn't true.

Solo queued both splits to Diamond, and Plat 4 is the worst tier yet.
There's been many discussions about this on reddit, some with better ideas then others as to alleviate what seems like a one way battle for KP/RP against your own teammates.
You need to be selective, learn to play selfishly, salvage your games. Push for early KP, rat for RP.
Be sure to mute your teammates if opting for this mind set, because the toxicity levels will be very high otherwise.
Plat is where players think they're gods, but in reality have very bad game awareness and won't ever climb to Diamond.
If you watch twitch, higher end players typically drop uncontested, loot up, and rotate in. It's all about beacons, good rotations, quick squad wipes, and defending your spot.
As for Diamond lobbies, being solo, D3 is typically where my rank grind stops.
- @Gabrielmojo26 Exactly. If you are not good enough to get out of plat 4 on your own, you simply are not good enough. At that point find a team.
