I’m half Japanese and play on the Tokyo servers and from time to time we switch to US servers (Oregon has the lowest ping). I am in a 3 stack 95% of the time. Take note that not only Japanese people play on the Tokyo servers and that Koreans and some of the south east asians play on those servers too which means a lot of different languages hence the chat is less used most of the time.
As for difficulty, I can only talk about pub games since I wouldn’t try playing rank in high ping servers. I find that players in Oregon are more aggressive in terms of playstyle but not necessarily worse players. I love how playstyles vary from server to server and then it changes again if you’re in a PC lobby.
3 stacking while more difficult, is still better than playing with randoms. I still get more wins I can play legends like Gibby or Caustic which is harder when playing solo (would prefer a mobility legend when solo). Lastly, an insider tip for those who praise us Japanese people as super kind people. No we are no better than other people from the West. A lot still judge other people, racists, xenophobic, and sexist BUT the difference is thay they won’t say it to your face.

Thank you so much for your response. I may have generalized Japan culture a bit but note that it's only what I've experienced specifically playing in the server, respectively. I still much prefer it, even in ranked as I get better success playing with "Randos" as opposed to American. I do appreciate the objectivity and I have visited Japan once a couple of years ago. The experience was mostly great. I stayed in a hotel near Hamamatsucho for a couple of weeks. Went around Tokyo (I suppose like all other foreigners do), So I'm sure 90% of my experiences there will be positive. I did however hang around Tsukiji Fish Market and some local restaurants were not welcoming to tourists as it was a Japanese only served restaurant so I do understand. It was even more prevalent when I went to visit a Temple in Kamakura. It's not that I didn't feel welcome there, they just didn't care to entertain tourists.
