Please give plat 4 it’s own lobby

Either that or remove tier demotion protection

It’s such a nightmare trying to get out of platinum because half the players don’t belong any where near there so you end up getting sandbagged every game with teammates that die instantly

platinum 4 is pretty much the highest rank you can get to by just hiding every game until the top 4/3 and getting carried by people actually able to climb the ranks, after that you actually need to be good at the game to rank up

so a huge portion of platinum 4 players are people that belong in gold but got lucky, they know they’re hard stuck in plat 4 so why bother trying to play for the win, all they care about is hot dropping every game for some early kills, treating every ranked game like pubs

they’ve got their desired rank so now it’s time to stop tryharding and just have fun, kick back, relax and ruin any other teammates chances of winning

I’ve played ranked a good few hours today and the majority of games have been my teammates wanting to push every fight they saw even though there’s still 16/17 squads left, dying instantly then leaving me to try and 1v3 or run away and try and survive by myself

I play ranked for the win, to try and gain as much RP as possible, as do most people serious about ranked mode. But it’s impossible when you’re constantly getting paired with plat 4 players who just don’t care because they’ve literally got nothing to lose so “why not try and push every fight?”

tl;dr either give plat 4 it’s own lobby so they can all play against each other, or more realistically just remove the ridiculous noob friendly tier demotion protection and give these players a consequence for their actions

For real, most shouldn't even be in gold, silver is where they belong honestly. I just did 525 with a long bow only off drop and my team had 20 and 25 damage. It's pathetic.

@Bean2kay9 All for this... I remember plat in first ranked season... so much fun... ppl hiding as soon as the match began... enemies having white or blue shields in end game...

Teammates doing less than 150 dmg while having engaged 3+ squads...

Heck I just made it out of silver (my gosh the skill lvl is so low)... ppl don’t hot drop and already go for edge of the map and avoiding every fight... so I just go 1v2/3 and how its a silver team. If I get the squad wipe or thirst 1/2... guess who show up and trying to take all the loot...

Luckily I just did this for gold and now only play ranked with ppl I know...

I don't get your post at all. It feels very contradictory. On the one hand you're talking about how bad teammates are but on the other you want the tier demotion protection removed? True, they wouldn't be "hard stuck" in plat lobbys but I wouldn't wanna be F'ed over just because of idiotic teammates that play ranked like its pubs. I don't wanna be stuck grinding RP because I'm bouncing between ranks and don't give me that whole "you're a silver player, you don't belong in my lobby" excuse/reasoning because it's not a good enough explanation.
Removing the protection would potentially do more harm than it would do good. Everyone knows how cancerous it is to play ranked with randoms that's why people avoid it unless they're 3 stacked as @Koochi-Q said himself.
Ranked is a nightmare in general. As you rightfully said the issue of noob teammates is ridiculous. The "improved" Matchmaking / SBMM is just the latest slapping on the bandaid to fix the big mf crack in the screen like it fixes all of our problems.

OP your post is a fallacy.
So what place did they reliably get in the game through Gold by hiding? 6th? 4th?
that’s an average of 6-16 points a game, provided, you know, they don’t die ever at 7th or lower.
it takes 2000 points to move through Gold. At something like 182 games, which to last that long would take at least 20 min a game on average, you’re talking 60-61 hours of straight play? Again no flaws?

This early in the season you aren’t running into a ton of people who do this, sorry,

@Bean2kay9 They need to reduce placement RP and it would solve the issue. So many people camp their way up into the higher lobbies. I'm noticing it even in gold, there are people who belong in bronze in gold.

They struggle to break 100 damage in Gold. It's not a huge deal for me in gold, I can typically carry them or at least get enough kills to cover my RP investment. But the higher up you go the harder it is compensate for these players.

@Bean2kay9 Dude Plat 4 will drive you nuts. At this rank I keep getting teammate that don't know Rev + Wraith combo. I even got into an argument with one of those clowns because he was trying to make us push but he won't drop his portal. I also got a Bang that spams smoke against an enemy bloodhound.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this part tbh.
@Daze623 it really doesn't surprise me. I think I'll only play ranked to do challenges (when they come out) and get to gold (for the rewards lol) before sacking it off. It just feels unplayable to me with randoms at the very least it's not enjoyable.

Rank is meant to test your consistency while playing against players with the same skill level as you. Players can get lucky and climb pass their skill levels rank and that is when demotion comes into play and bring them back down to where they "belong" or atleast until they get better at the game.

@Daze623 The only consistency in ranked is trash teammates. I don't want to suffer because I end up constantly getting 1v3'ed. So if I get into a slump in regards to teammates and can't repeatedly cover my entry cost I should get demoted? How does that make sense? Not everyone 3 stacks so that's not a viable solution.

I'm currently Plat 1 trying to get diamond for that dive trail and I purely play solo. It's not a fun experience but it's definitely challenging.
The good thing though is no one quits unless they want that punishment so me clutching a 1 v 3 is actually worth it and I did improve a lot compared to when I started. lol
