Potential New Apex Legend Idea - Leyan

Legend Name: Leyan
Real Name: Leyan Alexander Nox

Gender: Female
Homeworld: Gaea
Age: 17

Role: Skrimsher

Abilities

  1. Passive Ability: Gravity Grip - Leyan's boots allow her to stick to walls for a brief period, enabling her to perform gravity-defying wall runs, based on an energy bar that fills out when she side runs. (Energy Bar regenerates over time)

  2. Tactical Ability: Glide Ramp - Leyan deploys an inclined ramp that can hang on a wall or a ledge, combined with her passive allowing her to move quickly and fluidly across the battlefield. (Building ramps takes from her energy as well with a depletion multiplier depending on the ramp distance) (cooldown 15 seconds)

  3. Ultimate Ability: Sonic Board - Leyan's boots transform into a high-speed hoverboard that lets her move around at high speed (higher than Octane's speed a little bit) and fly over game environment obstacles, also allowing double jump while moving to max altitude. (lasts for 30 seconds) (cooldown 3 minutes)

Background Story:

Leyan was born into a family of scientists and inventors. Her father, Alexander Maxwell Nox, was a well-known chemist who went on to become a legend in the Apex Games under the alias Caustic. While Caustic's methods were controversial, there was no denying his genius when it came to creating deadly gases and poisons.

Growing up, Leyan was always fascinated by her father's work, but she wanted to forge her own path in the world of technology and innovation. She spent most of her childhood tinkering with gadgets and practising her parkour skills in the city of Gaea, always looking for new ways to push the limits of what was possible.

One day, while exploring an abandoned research facility on the outskirts of the city, Leyan stumbled upon a pair of boots that seemed to defy gravity. Intrigued by their design and functionality, she brought them back to her workshop and began to tinker with them, using her father's extensive knowledge of chemistry and physics to unlock their secrets.

As she worked on the boots, Leyan and Caustic grew closer, bonding over their shared love of science and innovation. Despite his reputation as a ruthless competitor in the Apex Games, Caustic was a doting father who always encouraged his daughter to follow her dreams.

With Caustic's help, Leyan incorporated the boots into her parkour routine, taking her skills to a whole new level. The boots were imbued with a strange energy that allowed her to stick to walls and run on the sides of buildings, where later she devoted that energy to her use and developed a ramp-building device and high-speed hoverboard.

Today, Leyan and Caustic are a formidable duo in the Apex Games, each bringing their own unique talents and skills to the battlefield. While Caustic's methods may be controversial, Leyan's high-tech gadgets and acrobatic moves have earned her the respect and admiration of her fellow competitors.

Together, father and daughter are a force to be reckoned with, pushing the boundaries of science and technology to new heights in the deadly arena of the Apex Games.

  • @Vakoni Interesting, but will they accept her as his daughter? Or throw it out because it's against their lore? That's the devs accepting or throwing, not characters in game, in case anyone was confused.

@Zulkiers I thought of giving it a twist from the game lore and adding another character is a good connection point to the whole game lore, yet it's up to them to use it or change it :D

More importantly, they focus on the mechanics (abilities) design and how it's using other game systems to ease the new character dev and how the character is balanced versus the other characters in gameplay advantage.

@VakoniWhile I'm not really against the character, it is getting to a point where it's more of a family/friend/enemies game where everyone knows everyone.
It's a somewhat cheap way of writing, playing on the established characters to get good will for the new one(s).
