Punching and kills

Today I was killed twice by people punching.

One was a wraith that landed right behind me, I had picked up an alternator and she had no way to grab a gun having just landed, so I emptied a whole alternator clip on her and she walked right up to me and threw a punch, killing me with ONE PUNCH 

A few games later I managed to survive to the final ring and this time I was using a sniper weapon against a wraith that was running toward me.  While looking through the scope I shot her several times and she made no move whatsoever to take cover, just kept walking toward me and when she got to me (I had on blue armor) she threw three punches one right after the other and it killed me, and my shots on her did very little damage.

This is the first time I've seen this where people don't even fight with weapons and can kill people by punching them one time or three times.  I knew the first one was playing with a modified game, but I noticed they removed the ability to see the kill or report the player, I'm not sure why they removed that unless I'm missing the button somehow that brings that up.

Also, I just found out the Nintendo Switch only plays the game at 20 fps and this may be what is making it impossible for me to hit anyone with high numbers.  

I did win a match last week when the team shooting at me didn't make it back into the ring, so that kinda softens the blow on this a little, but it's frustrating that people are no longer even using guns or dodging gunfire to play the game.  If this is the direction the game is going where advantage players can throw one punch and not even use guns then I may uninstall until things improve.  My brother that I play with had to take a break because his controllers broken, so I might take a break for awhile. 

Anyway, anyone know more about punches being able to kill people?
