R301 no longer the best gun in the Apex ...

... okay, so not EVERYONE thinks that the R301 is the best gun in the game, but I think the majority would pick it as their number one choice.

However, since the update I (personally) think there's a new number one, the Prowler. If you can handle burst weapons then that thing now absolutely shreds.

I don't really know how to say this but "most" players don't know how to aim, properly. Patience is a thing but pretty much the last thing when it comes to what is perceived as skilled. Patience is situational and accuracy / gun skill /quick reaction is ever present. EVER present. It will help you in every situation, even if you messed up.

I once read posts on Reddit about "what could I have done differently to win" on Apex university and some players almost lost it because the OPs' aim was so bad....no one wants the practice or put effort towards it to improve, yet they ask it and want the results? In high tier lobbies people do not seem to miss shots. There's no options, many times. You peak wrong you are dead. Patience won't help here if I can't put my opponent down quick in turn with whatever I have equipped.

Bruh... like the other day when I sent my friend a clip of me beaming this kid up in the B tower at Barometer, from across the map with R301. Anyway, she said "try that with a Flatline", and I said "wth would I do that?". R301 ftw!

Good aim is invaluable. But bad aim is hardly any real handicap in a game with skill-based matchmaking. You mostly get lumped in with other "bad" players and the wheels on the bus go round and round. Which is not to say that I don't believe in making any effort to improve. But as I've said before, I'm 20,000 matches into this game. When will I get better? How much more experience and practice is needed (let alone realistic)?

I recently read something about Dr. Disrespect saying that the problem with CoD is that it doesn't have the high skill ceiling of Apex. I'm sure it would upset him, and possibly you as well, to hear me say this, but the skill ceiling in this game is too high. By a big margin. BIG. I'm not saying that 20,000 should automatically make me the best in the game, but when that many matches go by without bringing me any closer to the stuff I see on youtube... then the developer has made a design decision that benefits the top 3% at the expense of their every-day playerbase. They haven't made the game unplayable for me, but they've hardly done anything to reward persistence, longevity, or loyalty.

    AMEN!!!

Say it louder for the kids in the back.

This right here is why I quit. When I just feel like I am meat for the Streamers to have easy kills with, not getting put with similar skill so we can all slowly improve, why would I invest more time when I already have a full-time job plus?

This just makes folks go back to single player games that respect our time.

That is absolutely hilarious to read if you're at all familiar with Doc and his historic opinions about Apex.  Every time in the past that he's played this game, he whined about spending the whole game shooting shields and the high TTK compared to Warzone.

As for the Prowler - yes!  I've sort of avoided this gun for my time in Apex but in the last couple of seasons, especially since the damage buff, I've tried to work with it a lot more frequently.   It absolutely shreds now that I've gotten used to it.  I have to resist my natural urge to get rid of it.  One burst ADS and the rest of the bullets (hipfired) feel like aimbot - and that's without a laser sight attached.  I can easily hipfire the back targets in the range for very consistent damage.
