R301 is how lmgs should be since you want lmgs to be able to hit at long range and be a threat. If you want lmgs to be useful they need to have more controllable fire but have worse TTK in short range than short range options unless you kit it. I would say a RoF increase is a better and less cludgey option than a gun shield hop up.
That RoF increase would make it worse at range because it impacts recoil control but it makes it better at short range, which makes it a trade off option that you take when the ring is getting to the last rounds, to keep it viable, and where range isnt as much needed.
Hate to bring up old news but That's the best idea I've heard tbh..
I call it the Standard Issue Rifle. It's not a love/hate relationship gun but just the relatable r301.
Nice take though, variable adjustment that alters the gun but depends on the situation of how You utilize its feature. It's like you split the gun in half.
You really feel the power of this gun during an LTM match.
