Ranked is a cringefest

What's the reason to play ranked? Rewards?

You get a limited time dive trail. You get a badge to show off with. But who gives if you got a diamond badge, or a master badge?

The only good badge is the predator one. Cuz let's face it: if you ain't first, you're last. Might aswell equip the bronze one. 

And even then, does being a predator automatically mean you're a good player? Better than average, maybe.

Have you seen predator lobbies? Camp in the fire for five minutes, don't fire a bullet until the last minute of the game, and then probably lose anyway. Top 750 player. Amazing.

Literally saw a game where you could see the ring on the minimap, and there were ten teams left... As soon as someone fired a shot, a gibraltar shield went up. And these are the supposed best players in the game.

When I first started playing Apex, I thought predator lobbies would be super sweaty, people wall bouncing left and right, high kill games, like, super intense.

But it's the exact opposite. It's a snoozefest. Loot for fifteen minutes, avoid fights at all cost, and hope to win the game. See an enemy? Immediately move to the other direction.

And this happens at all levels, whether it's a predator lobby, or a silver lobby. Doesn't matter.

"Let's play safe."

You know what that tells me? That tells me that as soon as we get into a fight, you'll flop over. 

If I know we're gonna die in fifteen minutes after landing anyway, just let me die right at the start. Let's hot drop, pray for a weapon, and get some early kills. And if not, we all make bad choices. You live, you learn. Life goes on.

And teammates never ping. What's up with that? Just tell me where you're going and let's go there!

And let's not even talk about awareness. When you actually do get into a fight, and win, you can't just loot their deathboxes forever, y'know. Others heard the shots, and they're comin' for ya.

(Well, maybe not in ranked, since we wanna avoid fights as much as possible. But sometimes it happens.)

And then you're dead, because you're standing still next to a deathbox, in a tunnel, surrounded on every side.

Then you have people who are absolutely clueless of what's going on. They wanna push a fight while the enemy team is ads-ing on high ground, and all you see is their scalp. You can't get any shots off, and the enemy is also getting shot by another team. 

But somehow, someway you manage to reach their spot. Only now the enemy for some reason have abandoned their high ground and resorted to the ground. And you decide to push them, unaware that there was another team shooting them aswell. 

So now YOU are surrounded by two teams. And you can predict the outcome.

And once you think you have been paired up with the worst players you could possibly imagine, the next team is even worse. 

Standing in the middle of the open, completely still, being an easy target, and throwing away an already boring match.

And this just goes on and on and on and on. It's just an endless circle of pain.

But I keep doing it, because I think the next game will be exciting. But it never is.

I literally witnessed my teammate crouncing right in the open, shooting at another player, who was also crounching right in the open...

It's a sight to behold.

And that's the game for ya.

You cannot 1v3 every fight. Impossible. But that's what I'm dealing with.

You say "It's about winning. It's a battle royale."

I agree. But at the cost of what? Falling asleep every game because nothing happens? Everyone just looking at eachother wondering who's gonna shoot first?

And how is winning a game with 200 damage and one kill satisfying? I know "fun" is subjective, but c'mon, you can't possibly think that's fun. 

I'm a murder machine. I wanna get high kills, high damage, I wanna push fights. And in my experience, since most people wanna play safe, the people who play aggressive usually win most fights, since the sleepy teams doesn't have the experience of actually firing their weapon. Usually they go down before even firing. They just keep looting and looting and looting, and when it come times to actually do something, they're clueless, meaning, free kills for you.

It's a win win, where you win twice. You get good loot, you get kills, you get score faster, and you don't haft to run around for fifteen minutes.

There are predators who actually do this, who play agressive, and they absolutely dominate their ranked lobbies, making them look like bronze lobbies. But you can probably count 'em on one hand.

Wrong mentality? You go enjoy your snoozefest of a game.
