This didn't happen to me but i was watching a stream where this guy was a Master, and he got two Platinum IV teammates. What's the point of having tiers if you get in the same lobby people with a very big skill difference? lol.
@apostolateofDOOM I'm inclined to think it's the latter to be honest.
Punishing solo players is essentially punishing the majority of your playerbase, which is counterproductive to say the least.
I think people have been put off ranked this season due to things such as the NoReg issues we had at the start of the season and the random server screws happening where you get continuously rubberbanded. Which all impacted the game at a point where ranked is usually at it's busiest.
So there are probably a lot less people playing at the upper echelons of ranked at the moment dur to starting later hence the weird matchmaking we're seeing.

Previous seasons I would get put into the same servers of similar ranked but now they are in different matches so I don't know if it's to reduce q times or what but I agree for the reasons you mentioned there are probably a lot less right now.
@apostolateofDOOM I have a feeling pathy will be seeing some more changes in the future anyway,and not necessarily negative ones. 😛
As for the topic at hand it really is hard to say lol,we don't have access to the data respawn have so it's literally just speculation unfortunately. :3
@Cro_PitttThat is working as intended. It is not handled by rank class. If you are master 4 this means you can be paired with a pred 4 or a diamond 4 lobby. The way it works is it puts it in a bracket you have a full rank of that bracket. So like i mention above there is chances to be placed with higher ranks because you are in that rank bracket range or you can be placed with 1 full rank below your current.
@MandatoryIDtagI know from previous experience EA games like to do things intentionally as social experiments so I'm hoping they collect their data and revert it back asap because as things stand I'm hardly playing ranked or the game in general atm.
Edit: @E9ine_AC I'm in diamond having bronze and silver in my team at times although most often golds so if that's intentional then i don't know what to say.
@apostolateofDOOM Well for sure in high ranks there's a very little number of players but still, Masters or Predators with Platinums is a bit too much. Also i don't see why they should force people to play with premades, if someone wants to solo queue he should not be penalized, it's a choice which already puts him in a disadvantage. Anyway this should never happen, makes the lobbies even more unbalanced and Ranked becomes useless.
@MandatoryIDtag Agreed, some might give it a week or two then try again. I just started playing ranked infrequently again.
When major updates like this drop. I also tend to play some rounds in PUBS to see buff/nerf impacts and get a solid idea of the load outs and legends I want in ranked.
i think ranked could benefit from slightly more incentive to play it. Maybe an apex pack or additional cosmetics as reward. The rewards have to excite the players.
