Raw PC Mouse Input is Missing? FPS = In-Game Sens?! Fullscreen = Borderless?!
Oh hey there!
So I've been a pretty active streamer on Twitch with this game and i'm a BIG fan of FPS games with over 20+ years of FPS experience under my belt and a former professional CS & OW Player - with that said, I'd like to think I understand what it takes for a shooter on PC to be successful/mechanically fun! (Also a big fan of Quake too)
Glaring Issues that need to be addressed ASAP:
- Input via-mouse feels as if you're ushering around your aiming recital rather than controlling it, as if it's emulating X/Y Axis input as it translates console controller analog input - feels really, REALLY bad and "float-y" too
- Unable to properly snap/turn 180 at high speeds (400/800dpi) due to issues mentioned above
- In-game mouse sensitivity feels as if it's tied to your FPS (high fps = high sens, low fps = low sens) which was a very flawed practice found in Fallout 76 early on during it's development when the game came out
- Mouse Acceleration still seems to be present even when set to 0.0
- No way to input your own mouse sensitivity for preferred settings, stuck at increments of 1, 2, 3, etc.
- Game Audio is incredibly low, however music volume and voice lines seem to be overly prominent
- Peer 2 Peer Servers in 2019? No Dedicated Servers? This is unacceptable and rather troublesome on PC. I have a clip from last night made by a member of my community of being disconnected due to "lost of host" which is reminiscent of old Call of Duty days back when Peer 2 Peer was a thing. (Clip Link > https://www.twitch.tv/nybz/clip/AltruisticLaconicYogurtANELE?filter=clips&range=7d&sort=time)
- Server instability/lag due to Peer 2 Peer services mentioned above.
- Full Screen is NOT Full Screen but still actually Borderless Window which also causes/influences input lag issues as mentioned above. Proof is when you're finished with the game and the menu pops up, there is a chance your mouse cursor will fly off the screen (if you have more than 2 monitors) and minimizes the game which proves it isn't actually Full Screen and this sort of situation 100% unacceptable :P
I love the game, a lot. I think it's fun as hell, adorable as can be, the graphics are amazing and the sound design (when I can hear it properly) is REALLY really good - even the maps are fun but my LORD it needs some updates in the PC department before this game consumes gamer's lives.
For any developers out there reading this thread, I hope this helps bring light to some glaring issues that need to be fixed starting from the top down. I'd even venture to say that if you quickly patched the input issues that all the other issues related to sound, visuals and network could be forgiven for a little while longer since PC gamers would be able to get in and physically feel comfortable enough to enjoy your game because as of right now I'm having people come into my chat and ask the question if they should get this game and I have to be honest with them by replying with "Only if you're patient because of X-Y & Z issues" - I'd love to be able to tell anyone who comes in asking to blindly purchase and thank me later, but there's obvious issues that need to be taken care of beforehand.
Thanks for taking the time to read my thread and I hope things get better soon 🙂
