So 50% win rate, You lose 12 and you gain 12= go nowhere. Your friend will keep ranking up

it says ranking up is based strictly on wins, and not your individual performance. But your MMR is based off of your personal performance, so it is indeed based on performance but the person who is worse ranks up faster. 

This would make sense if the person that I'm playing with in the same match got similar results. Example.  I get +13AP for a win when I'm a Silver II. My friend who is a Gold IV gets +51 AP for the same match. I did more damage more Kills more knocks...you know MORE. but I get only +13AP and for a loss, I get - 12 AP.  Funny how he only gets -12AP as well for the same loss.  Something is wrong with a bunch of accounts when it comes to proper AP for sure.

I'd like to bring up a point about the matchmaking system that I haven't really seen people mentioning.  Assuming that system is working well, said friend may rank up more quickly, but if they don't deserve that rank, they should get punished pretty quickly and sent back.  Is arena rank able to drop, unlike ranked BR?  It should, that's part of how an ELO system works.  I keep comparing to Overwatch's ranking system, as it's similar and one I'm used to.  In OW, if you get boosted to a rank you don't belong in, you're going to get knocked down hard.

@pandareno1999I don't think 12 points loss will have any hard hitting impact, particularly when you lump silver in Platinum lobbies anyway. Plus you will get Diamond rewards even if you derank from Diamond to Plat.

I get that point of Arena is not to reward any solo dolo behavior so your personal performance doesn't matter. But this philosophy takes a U turn when MMR based AP gain comes into play. 

For example, let's say a team with 70(hypothetical number) MMR rating goes against a team of 85 MMR. The extra AP gained should take that into account instead of each individual members MMR, so each member gets the same points. (in my opinion)

I was grinding it last night to try and unlock the caustic skin.  I was getting between +99 and +125 per win.  It has me in Bronze 3 for some reason.

I think a loss was always -12 or -16 (something like that).

I’m having the same issue, my friend is a higher rank than me and I’m playing better than him every game but he’s getting more so it’s obvious that’s not how it works it’s stupid 

It's just broken, it doesn't work like they suggest. I understand what they are trying to do which would be good but to reward my friends 100+ points more than my 12 to 15 per match is just broken even if there was a skill gap between us.

Yeah it makes no sense ☹️ I was silver 1 my friends got to gold and even gold 2 and I'm still on silver, played the same matches... soon I won't be able to play with them any more.. 

Sorry for the die hard arena fans out there but I just think that arenas was a rushed mode in response to the popularity of Valorant for Respawn/EA to have piece of the pie of that popular game mode.

Is it possible to just get rid of ranked arenas permanently now that Control is here? The RP system is broken, the matchmaking is broken because not enough people are playing it and there’s no chance that there will be a pro scene in arenas. So either get rid of pub arenas or ranked arenas.

Its not that I am a fanboy of arenas but I think arena is a whole lot of fun when you play with a premade, I dont enjoy it as a random. But the RP system is just not working well at the moment and control cant be served as ranked mode in any competetive aspect if you dont have a 9 man premade. I do like that we have two ranked modes, Idd rather they make a scrollbar for more modes hehe. Control is just a way of getting chaotic gun action, I can like that too but for sitting down and actually trying to be serious with your team only BR and Arena works for that. From a soloplayers perspective I hear you @Cheese9Man then I agree as both control and BR are much better then arena, but from a premade perspective I favor BR and Arena over control in fun and focus. For ranked I dont mind having a mode for Arena as it caters to some people and arena is an easy mode to cater to esports for.

Not true because I’ve been getting +12 every game since d3 while my friends in my game with me are gaining 80-60 per game in diamond were all diamond going against the same players but gaining different amounts 

this is a lie… Im stuck in bronze 3 and play with my Gold 1+ friends… I outscore them, out kill them, and still only get between 12-17ap when they get 79+ in the same match….. 

This is broken, and needs fixed asap.

I am bronze 1 all my team mates are bronze 1 the are getting 96 for a win I'm getting 61. There is no someone is lower then me excuse. This happened season 12 and season 13. Arena points are broke...will they ever fix it?

Sometimes I play against lower ranked players but I bronze 1 and playing against plat players.  If I win one of these I only 12 - 17 ap still.  I don't understand why this happens.
