Well I don't think queue times would be too much affected 3 stack has a different queue. Lobbies are already unbalanced, on plat you can play aganist current preds. With this much rank diversity in lobbies, queue times would be still fast enough. Preds can sit in a queue in longer time, it would also healthy for the ladder. Without instant queues outside of the prime time they can't grind pred for 12 hours a day so better players with less time can also hold pred if they gain consistent rating. Even most pro players are not preds because after a certain skill level it is just a grind.

They waste 3 seasons with their poor mmr system which is nobody asked for. Players keep asking for solo only or no premade ranked queue so why not try it just a one split? Most solo or duo queue people stop playing after plat or diamond because in current system there is always a 3 stack pred team in the lobby while you are playing with randoms. This is no way fair and promotes toxic behavior. I can just queue diamond 4 now to only get killed by 3 stack preds while I have two randoms which can be plats. So why should I play now? I'm not a npc for 3 stack preds to farm.

I think dota has the perfect system. You have two different ranks, one for solo queue and one for stacking. This way you can both grind your solo rating or play with your lower or higher skilled friends without worrying about points. As long as game feels balanced and has less cheaters queue times will be stay shorter. It would also be cool to see who can hold the #1 solo rank among pro players and content creators.

Faceit also has a system to balance teams depending on the party sizes. On apex if your party has a different skill levels of people or you play solo you are punished.

Ea doesn't want fair matchmaking , that's why you don't have soloQ.
