Re: aim assist 2024

hello

this is a pro player status twitter : I have played 8 hours of M/K today after a hiatus of probably around 2 years and its safe to say I'd never permanently swap back unless they nerfed aim assist hard. I can also confidently say i would have quit this game a long time ago if i never swapped to controller.

will respawn eletronic art ever nerf aim assist in 2024? How can mouse and keyboard players compete with an aim assist? and now they are all changing to pad controllers
respawn can nerfed aim assist in 2024 or not?

What Hal left out was the fact that he switched to play MnK for gifted subs Link to reddit discussion . He made somewhat 2500 dollars on those subs in 2 hours because viewers want to see MnK plays rather than just R99 one clip after another. Similar way the EMEA team 40% Worse playing with triple MnK had at somepoint half of all Apex twitch viewers during their PLQ run (18 000 / 35 000). Why isnt EA seeing a pattern in terms of viewership & comp?

I personally dont have anything against aim assist and I understand why it is needed in casual play but in terms of game viewership EA should really start to connect the dots.

If they dont want to touch the aim assist I would love to see big buffs and nerfs. Nerf SMGs to ground and buff Shotguns. Bring in all the maps for comp. Buff the least played legends to ALGS meta levels. Nerf Horizon, bang and cat bit below that. Tell pro divas to shut up and cope to be able to win the money.

  • @Airish85 That’s a fair point, there was recently a discussion between sweet and Lou about exactly that topic, that controller makes the game less enjoyable to watch and that the game lost a lot of its flashy plays because of it. You can find it on YouTube, is a great watch and quite interesting

@Airish85 What you leave out is 40% worse had likely the two most popular players in Europe on it, one who rarely plays comp and made his name solo queuing. Having watched shiv a lot he doesn't use any kind of mnk movement. He simply out positions and out aims everyone. People do not watch him for movement. They watch him because of his extremely high skill and his personality. Hal is similar. Hal never used movement. Both simply out position and out aim people.

I personally watch a lot of comp apex and do not watch due to movements like tap strafes or neo strafes or whatever the flavor of the month movement technique is. I watch to see who makes the best tactical play in the moment. Sometimes that is a gun play. Sometimes that is a movement play. Sometimes that is an ability play. Many times it's some combo of all of that.

@matzesingt I saw the Sweet and Lou discussion but they are flat wrong. ALGs comp isn't what average viewership is based on. Average viewership is ranked and the issue isn't movement or lack of, it's matchmaking. Pros and top ranked players are bored. Ranked is basically pub stomping for them now since they don't MM each other and most refuse to solo q. No one wants to watch a 3 stack pub stomp. With current MM not putting ranks together its ruined the whole thing.

@hayhor Yeah, Shiv still pulls 4.000 viewers playing thumbsticks and a mouth piece. He had over 2.000 viewers today just commentating EU scrims.
Mande had over 6.000 viewers yesterday "cooking" a sandwich.
Now, if we wanna talk movement... why didn't Noko have 50.000 viewers when he did Rookie-Masters on mouse and dancepad then? Talk about movement. 😏
