@hayhor It does not need much, very very minimal changes and I think it would be in a good place all around. Head shots that hit for 99-102 would be solid and the body damage would be fine.

That's the point I'm trying to make. It's insanely hard to use but it does not hit like it should considering how hard it is to use.

I agree on shotguns I think they should be hard hitting in close combat. They should dominate CQC as much as I hate getting 2 tapped by Mastiffs, that's what they should do. But I also agree they should be useless at anything outside of CQC.

I think BFV shotguns are good example of that, you can run around with one and destroy anyone that comes near you. But if they have any amount of range on you, you're dead.

    @DarthValtrex I think the real problem that was faced was, "How do we make 3 distinct shotguns all handle entirely differently, and yet all excel at CQC WITHOUT overwhelming the other options." When you think about it thematically, Respawn was too focused on making the shotguns feel different as opposed to making them functional, and I think they went the wrong way in terms of balancing and when you think about how the game is played.

    I think they should've kept the Mastiff as a CP weapon, and the PK as floor loot. The PK should drop its headshot multiplier to 1.2x, removal of reduced damage to legs, and a nerf to per-pellet damage (dropped to 8). This keeps the Mastiff as an extreme close range heavy hitter, and makes the PK require more user skill in order to 2 shot enemies. The EVA should get the most drastic rework, featuring minor spread reduction, genuine full automatic that comes installed on the gun, a massive drop in per-pellet damage from 7 damage to 5, and retaining the same 1.5x headshot multiplier and magazine size. An all or nothing weapon with great potential to really knock someone to the floor, or for you to miss entirely and do nothing.

    @pastaclown If the bring the PK back to floor, they need to really increase the spread beyond about 10M. In my mind anything beyond 10m should be where SMG, LMG, Wingman dominate.

    I agree in some sense that shotguns are a difficult weapon to do unique things with.

    I used to hate the Eva 8 but with Double tap I feel like it embodies everything a shotgun should be. With the double tap it's super OP in CQC, but any amount of range it's horrible.

    I think the Moz is a unique spin on a shotgun as well.

    If they want to do more unique things with shot guns. Maybe make one that breaks shields but it's weak vs flesh? Things like that..
