Re: EA needs to provide more active support for Apex Legends esports.

@csj711 I hope they start doing more too. One question though- How many teams should they support?

The reason I ask this is because Apex is a BR with orgs and teams around the world. They have 40 teams each in NA, EU and APAC north just in the pro league qualifying portion. Then there are more teams in SA and APAC south. Valorant is an arena shooter that requires a lot less players to have an event.

Again, I'd love to see more support but some of the organizations that pull out need to call out their teams too. It's been well known that sweet and his teammates went through a long period where they weren't bothering to scrim or even play apex. Why would an org sponsor a team that doesnt provide anything back? Wigg says it all the time: Pro players need to keep streaming and grow their own brand as well as the orgs.

First, I am translating Korean into English using the Google Translation system, so please understand that my answer may be awkward.

Your answer is also correct. Apex Legends' Pro League has more teams than Valorant, and it may be realistically difficult to provide support for each team, so each team and player must grow their brand through streaming and various other methods. It's right to do it.

There are many ways for EA to support Apex Legends' esports, such as active promotion for ALGS.

The first method that can be thought of right now is to distribute revenue from skins for the ALGS Championship or for teams that advanced to the finals of the championship.

In the case of Valorant, the profits from Champions skins are distributed to the teams that advance to the Champions, and through this, those teams are said to have made a large profit. Of course, Apex Legends is a battle royale in which many teams participate. However, sharing the profits from certain skins could be of great help to participating teams. There will be things like selling recolor skins for the ALGS team, which had attracted a lot of attention in the past (even though negotiations broke down in the past), and selling high-level skins just for ALGS.

Also, among the countries where Apex Legends is serviced, I think that in countries where ALGS viewership is somewhat low, more active promotion should be carried out through EA branches in each country to resolve this issue.

One of the reasons why VALORANT is growing in popularity in Korea is the hosting of various competitions by creators, streamers, and professional players. And at the same time, because the VALORANT Pro League is also promoted, Korean VALORANT users often naturally become interested in the Pro League.

However, since there is no active promotion of ALGS as well as Apex Legends in Korea, there are many Korean users of Apex Legends who do not pay attention to ALGS even if they know about ALGS itself.

To achieve this, I believe that EA should promote Apex Legends and ALGS through its Korean branch and through collaboration with creators, streamers, and Korean professional players.

In fact, even in Korea, viewership when famous Twitch streamers played Apex Legends reached a good level, and in the case of ALKC, unlike Part 2, which was not properly promoted,

Part 1, which was promoted through collaboration with a popular streamer, had more viewers than Part 2.

There will be a variety of ways for EA to support ALGS and Apex Legends esports leagues, but it is very unfortunate that nothing is being done properly for this purpose.
