On your mini-map, and by gauging it from their name on your HUD and your knowledge of the map. If they're so far away from you that you can't figure out where they are, then one of you is not paying enough attention.

If it's their fault they are so far away (guy who drops solo at a different POI, for example), you don't owe much obligation to try to help. If it's you getting yourself separated from your team (got behind looting, for example), then you need to try more to keep up.

I find a good practice is to just try to keep aware of your team's positions at all times. It's easier to keep track if you do it habitually several times a minute.  It just becomes another routine mental task. And if spatial awareness is difficult (it can be for me) try to stay as tight to your team as you can until you improve (you will).
