Solo Q has always been a little harder than playing with a premade team. This season with the new ranked changes that PRO players and Streamers helped develop is a lot harder than before and IMHO in its current state ranked is not healthy or balanced right. You have seen my other posts on this topic and know what I mean.
As far as, and I quote you here "ShivFPS is basically bouncing from D3 to P1 over and over. Yes, he is still playing very aggressively but my god the scoring system is broken if someone with his ability is just bouncing around. He kills 10 people early on and the squatters benefit for their "skilled" rotation while he gets nothing." I am so happy that Shiv and Co are suffering and can not seem to rank up, I guess they are not as good as they thought, maybe they need to get good and stop being trash at this game. I hear that sentence often enough. I mean was that not the goal of the new ranked system to put players in their actual rank. I guess that most of them do not like the taste of their own medicine and they will get no sympathy from me.
Rank play system needs to be fixed, somewhere between what it was and what it is now. Poor Shiv, Poor LuLu, poor average to good normal players who now have to put in double the time to make half the rank only to be demoralized in about 2 1/2 weeks when the split comes and you are at gold or below. I will be right there with you all.
