Re: How many games should the average player be winning?

@Axs5626Sxa5001 Well if all things are equal the average player should win around 5% of their matches.

Total number of squads divided by 1 (the top spot) gives you the odds you'll win.

There will be a huge variation in this though. If you play with a pre-made you can likely have a higher win ratio. If you play with randoms you'll likely have a lower win ratio. How aggressively you play, how frequently you hot drop and so many other things play into it. Do you play for wins or do you play for kills? All of this can impact your ability to win a match.

I'd imagine if you're winning some place between 4-6% of your matches you're at the average win rate.

The last few seasons my win percentage has hovered between 4-6% I'd imagine it's down this season because I've spent most of my time playing with randoms.

    I am average player and all previous seasons my win rate was around 10%.

    Thanks to  SBMM adjustments in this season my current win rate is around 5%.

    In this season i see much more masters/predators, then in any other season before. Plus now i am 100% sure that they put together premade squads with randoms. I have to play with 2 randoms, while in game we have at least few premade squads of masters/preds. How is that fair? This season is one HUGE step back. Recently from many streamers i hear that they hate this game and they play it only because viewers. If Respawn will not fix problems, then after 2 seasons only cheaters will play this game.

    I didn’t expect this thread to come up again. I am absolutely better at this game (better aim, better rotations, etc), but my stats show the exact opposite because I’m forced to exclusively play some of the best players in the world every single match.

    Once I hit Masters I tend to stop playing ranked because I get stuck. Unfortunately, my pubs consist of the exact same players I play in Master lobbies. 80-90% pred master contrails in lobbies despite them only comprising 2% of the player base. I have 1.4% win rate and I play daily. This is a direct result of the stricter SBMM in pubs. Before they increased the SBMM in December of 2019, my win rate hovered between 20 and 25%.

    SBMM is absolutely doing it’s job; skilled players are winning less and weaker players are winning matches they would have lost had the lobby been random. I only play the top 1% and they consistently crush me. Unfortunately, the SBMM algorithm doesn’t drop me into easier lobbies after a few losses so I’m stuck. I also refuse to create a smurf as I don’t want to pick on those kids.

    The burden of the top 5% is that our experience matters less than other skill groups. It is what it is. I’d be ok with a 1.4 win rate if I were being rewarded with extra content, but as it stands, there isn’t much positive reinforcement for being competent at this game.

    @Axs5626Sxa5001I get it trust me.

    It sounds like the situation I've run into in ranked. I'm stuck in Platinum. Some of that is because I have to queue it with randoms. Some of it is because I'm on the lower end of the skill side of platinum. I just get murdered in those lobbies. I do have PUBS though.

    Take any person whether they are mid tier or top tier. If they are on the bottom end of the mid tier skill level, they are going to get destroyed by the people on the top of the mid tier skill level. I think that is the biggest issue with SBMM.

    I guess a good example would be.. If you're in a lobby that's the top 5% but your skill level only puts at let's say being a top 4.7% player, then the people who are top 1% are going to destroy you. Now with SBMM you're stuck playing in lobbies that are a high concentration of those players. I bounce in and out of the lobbies that are some place between mid tier and top tier. If I have a streak of 2k 10+ kill games I end up in the harder lobbies. The skill gap between me and them shows. I have occasional success but I have bad habits from the mid tier lobbies that ultimately get me and my squad killed.

    It's probably why I don't mind SBMM in PUBS. I'm probably on the top end of the lobbies I'm in, so it's not a difficult thing for me. But when I move over to ranked, it's easy all the way up to Platinum.
