Let's not forget that the developers had ALSO forgotten to switch the discount on the crafting materials for the event.
It was a human-made error which was fixed a few hours later. No big deal, we all make mistakes.

But apparently they ALSO made a mistake with the reset counter. They forgot that the heirloom shards come from a normal apex pack (not an event one)

which means it has most likely resetted the progress once opened.
