Re: Is it just me or has matchmaking got even worse?

@Marge010 Nothing has really changed. You're probably just noticing it more or getting better and getting put in harder lobbies!

  • @Marge010  I feel like you've made a few of these threads already about the same topic, so there's a strong possibility that rocky has the right of it here. 😛

The better you get at this game the sweatier it gets lol.

@MandatoryIDtag Yeh I've made loads of posts about similar topics. The game feels different sometimes when a new season starts or a new event starts and then it seems to level out after a few weeks. It feels different again this time after the event. Just wondered if anybody else noticed a change

I’m pretty dedicated to the topic of MM. The game feels harder right now but I think that’s due to the hit reg and audio issues.

I’m still being exclusively pit against Master and Pred players— so the matchmaking is keeping the majority of players safe for the most part.

@Axs5626Sxa5001Apex & audio issues go together like fish & chips but I also think there is a problem with hit reg whether it's game lag or reducing hit box sizes etc.Regarding match-making issues I'd agree it's probably worse now of any other season also there certainly seems a drop in players whenever I've tried to where I've encountered lobbies filled with as little as 35 players which probably suggests balanced match-making goes out the window in a desperate attempt to start matches.Regardless of how many players are in a lobby when starting a match team-fill (or lack of it) is becoming a joke.I've been encountering situations quite commonly now where even 58-59 players are in a Trios match & I'm still only paired with one other player & then that player usually quits before landing.Surely it's not beyond the logic of Respawn to level out the player count in every match & get rid of the inflexibilty of having 20 teams in every match leaving teams woefully short of players.

Yup, I hear you. I’m just providing you my perspective. I’m above average and typically float between Diamond and Masters. I have never achieved Pred. I’m ranked in top 30 in various categories for Pathfinder on console.

My wait times for games are long— the algorithm is CLEARLY trying to pit me against my equals. When I queue with similarly skilled friends, our lobbies are typically 80%plus master/pred (IN PUBS!! This is ridiculous).

When I queue solo, it’s about 50-60% Diamond/Master teams, but my teammates are frequently lower skilled.

This MM structure plus all the issues you mentioned (audio, hit regs, etc) leave me losing A LOT. Overall, I win about 2% of my matches (ranked plus pubs). LMAOOO. I know average players who win more than me.

MM is just so damn disenchanting.

I'm an average player at best but this season has been very inconsistent. I found season 8 and 9 were quite consistent for me in terms of kd ration and wins. This season has been all over the place. I got to a point where I was winning at least once every other day (I play this game 6 days a week)

Since this event started I don't think I've won 2 games. I only remember winning 1 game and that was a week ago

@Axs5626Sxa5001 I completely agree with you & persistent server issues largely in season 9 & 10 made up my mind for me to stop playing ranked until problems have been smoothed out.But even playing pubs as you mentioned is a disenchanting experience with very little incentive to persevere. So far in season 10 alone my K/DR is 1.34 654 kills & 487 deaths which isn't very good I know but around 100 or so of those deaths came when I was in cannon fodder mode running around like a headless chicken upon landing unable to find a single weapon in busy areas just to be melted barely moments into a match often by an enemy wearing a purple shield conveniently armed with probably their favourite weapon as some sort of sacrificial lamb.

Many youtubers have claimed that the algorithm around Apex is to offer a relatively easy first match to boost your kill rate & then dump you in much harder matches straight after that can see you in squash matches merely lasting seconds.

@Redmattgame I doubt that algorithm applies to me lol. I rarely have a decent game until at least 4 or 5 games in most of the time
