Re: Its not just Apex Dieing its all FPS games

Disagree on the part about FPS games dying. In my opinion its the PvP that has reached its limit. To be precise the players playing PvP have reached their limit.

Still some FPS PvP games will survive in the long run but Apex in its current state is not one of them. Main reason being that there is no PvE option in Apex. No cheaters, smurfs etc issues in PvE. To add PvE option and casual fun game modes is the key. For example Fortnite with its community created game modes etc will survive no problem. When OnlyUp was released, within days there was Fortnite OnlyUp mode which gained hundreads of thousands players immediately. Parkour game in FPS. Imagine that. How about trident racing mode for example? 🙌

You can imagine the turnover for these games by just looking at their collaborations. Apex had Post Malone themed event vs Fornite is about to have Eminem event. Fortnite had StarWars/Marvel/DC/Witcher/Naruto/Sporting stars/John Wick etc vs Apex had madeup recolor skin events. For Apex to survive and be able to compete with such effort they would need to go all in. Now its half butting and teasing with some semishooters modes in a game that has turned into more ability game. You cant have best of both worlds.

I too used to play UT & Duke back in the day. Jumped on to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory with the improvement of internets speeds. Back in the day those were pure shooters. That was the beauty of it. If you look at Fortnite it has more pure shooter mechanics than Apex with its legend abilities. Having said that the building / edit / peak / edit / build / edit / peak gameplay is boring but once again they listened to the playerbase and brought in popular no-build modes.

Mechanics of Apex are the best in current FPS games. If only EA/Respawn were more creative with what they already have.
