Re: Lifeline is ruining the game

I don't like that AOD seems to be arguing this from the point of view of an overly aggressive solo player but he does have a point. The revive is a problem as it is. The revive in its current form has two many benefits and no drawbacks.

Strengths:

-Revives a teammate without Lifeline needing to abandon the fight

-Provides a shield for both the Lifeline and revived player

-Can be spammed.

Weaknesses:

-Lifeline is slowed when she starts the reviving animation.

I'd be in favor of two ideas.

1. Remove the shield from the revive so Lifeline can only pull it off behind cover.

2. Attach the revive to her drown which would put it on a cooldown while slowing her down less. Might allow the drone to heal the target to double the hp or even fully heal the target when the revive is completed. Might have to shorten the cooldown on the drone as well.

I feel either of these changes would allow her to stay strong while not being able to use her revive too recklessly.

  • @heme725Yes its spammable but at least you cant res 2 ppl at the same time with it, the second one you need to res like everybody else.

I've played a lot after the rework and i never had problems because of that passive. If i see that revive from a distance i know that 80% of the time its a free kill, shoot when the person gets ressed and thats it. Saying she's too strong with golden backpack, then why arent you saying that golden backpack + golden knockdown shield is too OP too? Right now her passive is the only great thing about her, drone heal is at most OK and ult is useless unless you cant find enemies as ult guarantees at least 1-2 squads will come after you.

  • @tommor1988  You simply can't compare a gold backpack/knockdown shield combo to lifelines revive/gold backpack lol.

Firstly the knockdown is a one off if you manage to do it successfully.

Secondly the odds of successfully pulling off a knockdown shield revive is extremely rare.

Meanwhile lifeline can keep reviving her teammates with a decent amount of hp/shields.

Yes you can "just rush" or "shoot at that them when the shield drops" but if you're being shot at by a player who's very much alive you're not going to just ignore them lol.

The smart play is simply to just kill lifeline first but if we're being honest plans rarely come together in apex due to the sheer number of threats/variables that come with a fight.

@MandatoryIDtagI know that, it was just an example. Another thing is, i know Lifeline can kind of spam it but the argument that the shield makes it immpossible to kill downed players is wierd. We have Gibby too, yes his shield has cooldown and he doesnt shoot but he has faster revive than Lifeline and after that, both him and ressed player are still behind the shield. Its just wierd that when Gibby does it, its OK. Keep in mind that Gibby has a good passive, good tactical and good ult but as i mentioned earlier, Lifeline has a great passive now, OKish tactical and semi useless ult.

  • @tommor1988  I mean yeah Gibs is still faster but they did nerf it somewhat, and after the dome nerf you do have considerably less time to heal up.

My issue isn't the mechanics of lifelines ult it's the unlimited usage. I'd like to just see a bit of a cooldown after 2 or 3 uses(nothing heavy) so that fighting a lifeline squad doesn't become a continuous game of whack a mole.

@tommor1988 The shield forces you to close the distance in order to finish off an opponent. More importantly it provides temporary cover to the Lifeline pulling off the revive. That isn't important just making it clear that I'm not saying the shield makes it impossible to finish downed enemies.

Personally I have an issue with Gibraltar even having the role to revive a teammate since it seems like a waste for his skill set but that doesn't matter either.

The issue with Lifeline's revive is that it can bring players into the fight quickly and do it an unlimited number of times. If you finish off the Lifeline then there isn't an issue but there are situations that can make that difficult. Bangalore smoke, Caustic traps, enemy bullets, needing to reload or heal can all give Lifeline enough time to pull off a revive with minimal risk. I don't mind her having a strong ability but it's too easy to pull off and has too much value for it to be an ability that she can spam. All I'm asking for is to increase the risk she has to deal with or decrease the frequency she can pull it off. Since the rest of her kit is pretty weak I wouldn't straight up nerf her new revive but it does need to be tweaked.
